MAXI JUST CALLED!!


Ohmygoodness, I haven't heard his voice in four weeks!! And I was just not expecting a call this morning. In fact, I was sprawled on the couch when the call came & the ID said "US Cellular". Well, it wasn't the number of any of my friends I know use US Cellular, so I thought maybe it was my girl because I expected her at any minute. So I was unhappily struggling to get up and get over to the phone and picked it up just as he was going to hang up!!

I'm so glad I caught the call in time!!

He sounds great!

They were already in Rockland and were planning on stopping at Friendly's for lunch. Jane said she thinks they'll be down here by 2:30.


YAY!!!

I told him his friends have been stopping by to ask if he is REALLY coming home today & he laughed & said he can't wait to see them all, either. So I'm guessing there will be piles of boys in and out and fooling around on the porch this afternoon since it isn't raining.

I've got the camera at the ready and I want to get a Welcome Home Picture as soon as he comes in.

Gee, it was so good to hear his sweet voice.

Today I am going to make the special BLT's I only make very rarely. I even have those fancy toothpicks with the frilly tops! He loves those and it will be easy on him after traveling all day.

Tomorrow we will do the steaks, corn on the cob, and red potatoes.

I bought a 2 ltr of diet Pepesi. When he left, his Going Away 2 ltr was still half full, so I poured it into ice trays and made cubes for when he got back. So today he'll have his diet Pepsi with diet Pepsi ice cubes. He will be glad for that!

Because our weather suddenly turned very hot, all the local shops have run completely out of novelty ice cream... cones & popsicles and whatnot. So instead, as a surprise, I bought him a small Snickers and stuck it in the freezer.

He'll be surprised because around this house candy is for Halloween, Christmas and Easter.

We moved my big shower bench out of the bathroom and scoured the tub & surround and left the bench in my room so tonight (or tomorrow morning) Maxi can get a bubble bath and play in the tub. He can spend hours in there when the mood strikes him!

One of his friends just stopped by to ask if he could hang out with me until Maxi gets home. I asked him to come back later because I still have so much to do. Man dear, everybody is excited today.

Yay for Maxi comeing home today.... and for you being able to get ready for him... bubble bath sounds good to me too... frozen snickers .. haven't had one of those in yrs...

Well the house was crammed with kids when Maxi arrived. He was here for all of about 5 minutes.... long enough to bring all of his camp gear inside,check out something on-line, change into his swim trunks and dash off to go swimming at Dom's house across the street! He said he'd be back by 5:30.

I guess I will see him then!

My friend told me the cabin counselor had told her that Maxi had been up til midnight last night finishing reading a book that belonged to the camp. He couldn't bear not to finish before leaving. So I'm guessing he won't be up late tonight at all!
