my niece is engaged (he bought her a piano AND a diamond) and I'm in charge of the games for the engagement party. This party will be family oriented and most of the games I find online are risque. Anyone have ideas for decent games for adults? I've already got the newly wed game - sort of. I'd just like 1 more that includes the other people. Also, I'd like an idea of a gift for the couple. When her sister became engaged I gave a gift to the parents of the bride and groom to be instead of giving it to them. I gave them each an engraved frame to be used for the couples wedding picture. I hate to repeat myself.
I have no ideas for games BUT I do have an idea for a gift. II think a cpair of nice wine goblets engraved for use on thier wedding day would be nice.. Surely there is someone who can help you pick out an appropriate pair. (something that will fit the wedding decore)
if it gets too costly have some other family member go in with you on it.

I don't know that they'll be drinking wine or champagne Carol Jean. I suppose they could drink ginger ale out of them and they'd still be pretty. Good idea.
--they should need something to drink a toast with anyway. You could give them a bottle of the sparkling grapejuice with the glasses, so as not to offend them if they do not drink.

The party was Saturday night and it was great. My niece loves shoes and I ended up finding a cake cutter in the shape of a high heel. The heel, which is beaded and fancy pulls off and is a refrigerator magnet.
Since the families had never met what I did with the famous couples games was to make two stacks of cards and give them out as people came in the door. I gave my nieces family one side of the couple and his family the other. Like I would be Cher (since I know the bride) and the groom to be dad would be Sonny. The instructions written on the card said "You are Cher - find your mate so that the two of you will make a famous couple and introduce yourself. If you know a secret about the soon to be married couple share it with each other." This gave people a chance to meet instead of staying with their own family. The only problem, and I still can't believe it, is that 1 person didn't know who Elvis was married too. He told me he's a geek and I agreed with him. We found out all sorts of secrets about the two of them. Like for instance, the finance, Brett, wore his mothers bathing suit bottoms swimming not long ago.
