Lynne ~ I am so sorry to hear of your injury! And yes, it is good nothing got broken, but sore is sore anyway! Let us all hope it heals very quickly for you!!
Merme
We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
I am ok really, just more sore than I'd like to be. I am very thankful that nothing is badly hurt, and that I didn't get a bad scrape out of it either. I was trying to tie back a very large sedum autumn joy that had splayed out from the center - they tend to do that when they are a few years old and large. The wire I was holding around the plant came lose, which caused me to fall back and trip.
I fell backwards onto a slate walkway. I even screamed, but none of my lovely neighbors heard... or cared? Don had just left to go to physical therapy, so I was alone - again, thank goodness nothing was badly hurt. I tell you though, I was pretty scared while falling - this getting older is NOT fun! It is, of course, better than the alternative, but couldn't we go backwards in age instead???
I just hope it doesn't get stiff overnight - I need to go school shopping with Amy tomorrow. Thanks goodness we have to be back by 5, because she has a flute lesson tomorrow evening!
Thanks so much for caring - I am a bit embarassed by it all.
As you said this getting older is not fun at all. I am glad that you are only sore--but then sore is not good either. As a matter of fact sore can be very bad--(and can hurt a lot more than a break--or so 'they' say)
I will hope that you wake up feeling much better than you do tonight.
So tell me, is the sedum tied up???

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!! .....
Lynne, don't believe Cindy when she said in her private message to you that she's been there and done that and you're just like her.
I'll bet you are sore. Maybe a good, long soak in the pond????
Uhhhhhhhhhh Sheri - that's NOT what Cindy had in her creative mind last night!!!
A soak in the pond sounds good right about now! Only thing is... IT'S RAINING FOR A CHANGE HERE!
But I am excited to report that when I fed the fish yesterday, about 5 of them sucked on my finger - it's always fun when they are comfortable enough with humans to do that. Don asked if they have teeth - UHHHHHHH... NO! Now I will be able to hand feed them. I need to buy some food that I can hold for them - right now I have flake food.
OK CINDY - now is your chance to run off with this post once again - I can just see those wheels turning in that mind of yours!
Thanks Jessica. I am a bit sore - not too bad, but I didn't realize that I also fell on my hip bone, so that was tender everytime I rolled onto that side last night. Again - not too bad though, so hopefully all will be fine in a day or so.
Do hope you arent to sore today.. falling is just not fun.. I know how you feel it's just embarrassing even if we are alone when we do it... and the older we get the worse it seems to make us feel... take care and rest it up... sure glad nothing broke and of course you finished tying up the sedum... your a gardner! Nana
Thanks Nana - and you are absolutely right - I think the fear of the fall was greater than the fall itself! When I stopped falling, I just sat on the walk for a few minutes a bit stunned, you know? As if I couldn't believe that just happened. Because I couldn't possible be at the age where that stuff DOES happen, you know? uh, uh... not me!
so you're sticking your fingers into the pond. I think I saw on Tru TV about a man who killed his wife by putting flesh eating fish in the pond and pushing her in. You better count your fish everyday so one can't be slipped in on you.

I'll be real careful about that, Sheri!
Cindy behaving - now that I gotta see!
I'm actually doing pretty good today. The only problem I had was holding too much clothes for Amy to try on today, but just for a minute - I was very good about using a shopping cart in all the stores, so hopefully tonight will be a good night as well - I reallllllllllllllly need the sleep!
Here is the sedum I was trying to tie up
And here is the slate walkway that I fell back onto
I am really glad you are okay, Lynne, and that you used caution while shopping today.
A friend of mine fell in his garden last week & hit a piece of slate and needed 5 stitches in his forehead.
Garden falls aren't any better than other falls!
I always find them shocking and somehow traumatic to the entire body even if no "serious" injury was sustained.
Of course, our pride/dignity can be wounded by a fall also. Just ask my other friend who fell in his cat's litter box one day!

Thanks for the first laugh of my day, Merme! Falling in a litter box certainly wins the prize! EWWWWW!
Which reminds me - I need to buy some litter today. I usually get it at Costco because the larger containers are cheaper than elsewhere, but with my arms as bad as they are these days, and Don with his slipped disks now, what a pair we are, huh? I will hopefully get someone in the store to help me load them into the cart, and then into my car. And then Brian will have to take them out of the car later this evening.
I tell ya... my grandma was right. "FEH... growing old is no good!" (that from the woman who lived to be 99 years and 10 months old!!!)
