Very pretty, Barb. I don't have any yet. But plan on getting a couple. They are supposed to be perennial from zone 6-9 but are reported as living over in much colder places. So I hope yours do for you too.

I used to have a few guara plants dodge. I had two pink and 1 white. Over the years they have died but they sure were pretty while they were alive. They are perennial but I think they're life span is only 3 or 4 years. They can take the heat and the dry and if you have a bird bath look pretty planted encircling it. When in full bloom it looks like tiny moths swaying back and forth on the thin stalks.

Pretty Dodge!
I tried to grow them when they were first selling them around here a few years ago - they got very long and leggy and fell over no matter what I tried, and none of them came back over winter.
I hope you have much better luck with them!

I didn't have to stake mine. They were very thin and fine and wispy. The flowers are so tiny they didn't pull mine over. They would sway in the breeze but it was beautiful when the flowers were blooming. They died at different times. May have been because of the drought because I didn't water them. What kind of blight is on your orchids?

Algave has white stuff all over it ......My squash outside does too. Gerber daisy....got at lowes on sale was coated with white.. Same as tomato blight I think.. They turn black??
Makes one sad..

I pegged mine down after they bloomed and put compost over them and they doubled in size.Mine get shaded too much so get leggy, but do hold up to the heat well.
I will age ungracefully until I become an old woman in a small garden..doing whatever the Hell I want!
