I have one watermelon on the vine and it is about half grown and it is soft, and shriveled on the end opposite the vine. Is this normal, if not what do I do?

no, it's not normal. one year my watermelon got a black spot on the end. similiar to blossom end rot that tomatoes can get if the soil is lacking....???....calcium, I think? it wasn't shriveled though, just the black spot. I'm thinking it would have something to do with the soil nutrients though?

Hmm.. Makes sense... I thought of that since it is also the only fruit out of 3 vines.. I was scared to put too much fertilizer cause I had heard that can make them rot, maybe it was the other way around...

I'm no expert on watermelon. I'm better at eating them then growing them. maybe someone else has a different opionion? (bumping this back to the top for other eyes to see)
