I thought I would share this. Not to promote myself, but because I stumbled onto an idea that really is taking off, and I thought it might inspire others who want to "capitalize."

A little over a year ago, I started a small "business" that I called The Northside Guerilla Farmer. I know how to grow veggies. People here in Cincinnati want to learn. I'm an old-fashioned biologist. I'm a teacher at heart. I really believe people should know how to feed themselves. So people pay me to teach them how to plan, plant, & tend a garden, and how to preserve its bounty. (And my rate is dirt cheap!) Anyway... in less than one year, the local hip & trendy, glossy magazine called me and asked for an interview. Hey-- why not? So here's the interview in the September issue of Cincinnati Magazine.

If any of you all want to consider doing this, too, I'm more than happy to share what I've learned.

Congratulations Marica! It is so wonderful that you can share your knowledge with local people and teach them how to grow food to feed themselves. Isn't it wonderful to be recognized for your efforts?

I, too, would love to be able to read the article!

Definitely people should feed themselves. It'll also teach them how much goes into producing the food that goes on their table. Hopefully they'll waste less and be more grateful.

Thanks! I'll figure out how to post the article so you can read it as soon as I can. Meanwhile... daughter's getting married and I have things to do.

Be back as soon as I can.

And for those of you looking at other discussions in the Banter Hall... this is why I like this forum.
