We don't have any critters but that doesn't mean we don't like them. Today my neighborhood hosted an event called, Woof Da! Dog Day of Ballard. It all started in a community blog where someone posted in the forum that Ballard should have a cutest dog contest. That's not exactly what it turned out to be, everyone said it was too hard to pick a cutest dog. So they decided to get creative and come up with all sorts of categories for people to enter their dogs into. They had categories for small, medium, and large dogs separately. They were giving out prizes for such things as largest ears, curliest tail, longest tail, most unusual markings, most interesting heinz 57, and so on. The idea was for no one to feel like they missed out and even those who didn't win in a category still got a special treat for their dog. Local pet stores along with Trader Joe's all sponsored and donated treats and things. The entire even was done on a volunteer basis. It was really neat. I did, of course, take some pictures. I'll post my three favorites along with a link to the album if you want to see more.

Just look at that face!

These are always so much fun. I think better than high brow dog shows although I like those too. I looked at you album. You got some good shots. Some dogs just love children.

Thanks, it was fun. Not something that has ever happened before and very casual. The park was a big park, water fountain, skate bowl, lots of grass. It was a perfect day too. I had a dog jump into my lap too but being the camera-woman I didn't get a picture.
