Well, Bill was sawing logs in the shout box and got me to yawning. I guess I will turn in again. Even though I napped it was a long day and hot, hot, hot. It exceeded the 107 predicted. I didn't look at the final results. It was too hot to open the door and check my porch thermometer. and hot throughout the weekend is expected too. I will water and hide.

Good morning. I'm drinking coffee and waiting for a little light to poke its head up outside.

And the sun finally rose but behind a smoke haze from all of LA's fires. So I went out and feverishly raked up a couple more piles to be hauled away to the green waste dump. I feel better because I accomplished something out there anyway. The air quality sucks. My eyes, nose and throat are in turn, burning, running, itching and combos of all of the above. And that may well be all I get done out there today. The news is recommending not to work outside in the nastiness today and now that I got a wee bit done I will heed the warnings. But I didn't do anything out there yesterday so felt a driving need to do a little today.
Now I need to clean up and run to town for a couple of items we need. I do wish all we use could be purchased at just one or two places and that they were all in one direction. But I won't complain because most are.

morning all! I got a bit done in my garden this morning. pulled a few more weeds, and re-did the pea trellis. this variety of peas says they need 'little support', and that is exactly what I have set in place for them. lol

we need to get some mowing done around here, but no one will move their lazy tails and help me, and I'm not picking up the kidos toys and hubbys toys all by myself. some serious 'motivation' is in order, it seems. tapfoot

I hope you find a way to motivate them, Cricket.
My weekly laundry is done. I have run to the store and gotten what we need for a day or two. I have something smelling good in the crockpot. I guess it is time to sort out those drawers I have been putting off.

Morning! Got my cup of coffee, got the laundry going, and now I'm eating a coconut milk yogurt. It's interesting but not gross. I just learned about how good for you coconut oil is yesterday, I was eating some coconut milk ice cream and looked up lauric acid. I told Aros that I need to buy that ice cream more often because it's good for me. lol We were thinking of working more on cleaning out the garage today but we'll see if that actually happens once Aros wakes up.

I am in drastic need of more drawer space. Mostly for Ted and I.
I need to clean out more of John's stuff but am not ready to throw everything away. I wear his socks. I already tossed the underwear. (found a cash stash clap ) I can wear a lot of his stuff so am loathe to get rid of it if it will do for gardening. I am tucking all of the jeans and flannel shirts away for a quilt for Jonni one day. I just need to do a little at a time because Ted will end up putting things away where they have been before. I don't want to upset him.

Tina - I think that is a wonderful idea to make a quilt for Jonni from John's clothes - what a great keepsake for her with warm memories!!! No one in my family has ever been creative like that - you are a special mom!

Thank you Lynne. It really wasn't a totally original idea. There were pictures of jeans quilts floating around here a few years ago. And when John got ill the idea popped into my head. I found one I love but I won't be able to handle the construction of it. I just don't have the hands for it with my arthritis. I'll need to hire it done now.

Hi all,
It's been a strange day today- went back to sleep after brekfast for a while- then after lumch when I inteded to get Mom in shower my oldest grandson showed up... spent 3 hours talking to me- so was good - he is having girlfriend breakup problems.... woldn't be that young again for anything ... everyting is so MAJOR he is in college now so hoping he gets over the heartbreak and settles down to learning something-
Finally got Mom her shower and now we need to get some diner made... thinking spaghetti and garlic bread... fast amd simple sounds good today... didn't get a lot done except a nap I must have needed cause didn't intend to sleep at all....
Well got to make some dinner...

Nama, you must have needed the rest. A lazy day is good for you sometimes. And your dinner sounds scrumptious.

I am glad you are all mowed and cleaned up, Cricket. I hope hubby didn't share your half of the beer on his way back.

haha he didn't share my half, but he did drink his half with the neighbor. he is recliner bound now. guess I will enjoy a couple of beers with the kidos around the fire. and no!, the kidos won't be drinking the beer. just enjoying the fire and music and conversation.
this day started out lazy, but we did get much accomplished this afternoon. relaxing is always so much better when you've earned it.
