It probably has to ....It is so tiny the wind would blow it away.
Yesterday, 2 of the hummers were on the dahlias, in comes a bigger bird like a sparrow or something......The hummer took chase an ran it off..LOL
That was so funny.....Wonder why it was scared? Might stab it with that beak?

thumbup dodge, that is an awesome picture! and hummers are mean little things, they can hold their own. i bet even with big birds.
