I have been trying to do research on PDA's which led me to learning about SmartPhones.

Now I am utterly confused!!

All I wanted was a simple electronic handheld organizer type gizmo and all I'm finding are phones that walk, talk, take pictures, visit, show movies, surf the net and would probably wash your car if asked.... IF you sign a 2 year contract and don't mind spending an initial $500 to get $300 back in rebates...

Are PDA's even manufactured any more?

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Don't get a smartphone; sure, they're ok for technophiles like me but I don't even want one lol...

PDA's are "ok" but they have things now called "Netbooks" that are basically small laptops (or ultra portable devices) that are really great and gaining a lot of marketshare.

How much are you looking to spend?

Examples of Netbooks
My recommendations on Netbooks (specifically ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005HA-PU1X-BK (which yes, if I had the money I'd totally buy for myself lol))

(and yeh, I generally recommend Netbooks over PDA's)

I had been looking at netbooks for my son but someone told me that because he has difficulty keeping himself organized, a PDA might really be of help.

Do netbooks have calendar features and whatnot?

Netbooks offer much the same functionality as a standard laptop, only in a smaller size.

Honestly, PDA's are childrens toys in comparison, and they're about the same price...
