I purchaced this plant about 300 miles from home and have been trying to figure out what it is, it was a plain looking green plant with no blooms, then I set it on my printer and it came alive with a vengence within a month it bloomed, the store had several (none with blooms) and this one was marked down and kinda droopy looking, so I wanted to save it. The store had it marked as a "Foxtail" and all the information I can find on that name is an outdoor grass. This is a indoor plant and I really need to hang it as it has become long and trailing.

I don't know if these links will work, I have never posted a image this way before.

Thank you for your help!!

It looks like a Acalypha hispida or a red hot cat tail and it has a few other common names. Yes they do well as a hanging houseplant. They can go outdoors in warm weather but need to winter indoors. Congrats on a great find!

Thank you so much, did a search on "Red Hot Cat Tail" and looks right maybe just a differant variety than the photos I found. Seems to be happy on my printer just have to wade through it to get the pages out.

Oh . . . ok . . . I know what they are - some kind of Italian plant - it's called 'candle something or other'.

Or . . . it could be the chenille plant!
