It's a beautiful day here today but freezing in this school. Last year I brought in a little heater, which is against the rules, and tripped a breaker every other time I turned it on. By the end of yesterday my hands were so cold I could barely write. I'm going to bring some mittens next week.

I haven't called to check on Colby yet. If they're asleep I sure don't want to be the one to wake them.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day.

wavy Good morning all!!

It's cold here but at least we are having a big burst of bright sunshine. YAY!!

I only had two hours of sleep last night so I canceled my plans to run errands today and sent my girl to just do the couple of easy ones she can do without me.

I have a few projects I want to complete before Maxi comes home tomorrow. And a mountain of business calls to make.

Morning all,
I have been up for a while but took me a while to get moving much- now I am getting ready to clean the carpet in the office- sprayed it with oxiclean spotter for the bad area and goign to it and the stairs as quick as I can- Carrie needs the cleaner to pull out he water from her window or roof leak... she has to call her landlord now,... if she can get him - he rarely answers her calls or returns them...we have about 4 ft of snow in places and still have no tv - except the converter box ones... so good day for Will and watching movies.... LOL!
Well off to clean carpet and get that done...

Gosh Nana, 4 feet of snow. Glad it's not here.

Cindy, the kind of granny that thinks to buy stuff to send. That's what kind of granny you are. Late or not some children would LOVE to have a granny who thought of them.

I agree, you are a good granny, Cindy. And be glad he probably won't check the date it was mailed out.
I just came home from shopping and then picking my son up from school. I have my first Christmas gift purchased. Yay! Jonni is really hard now that she has more money than I do. She kind of buys what she wants when it is in my price range.
I brought in firewood today. Now I'm thinking a nap is in order.

It's stuff I picked up around the house... blush haha
He loves my junk...so I round up some every now and then and sent it to him. lol
I sent him some candy (....you're welcome, Rachel....) ...(chocolate)... notme
...I sent him my (used) harmonica...he has been asking me questions about my harmonicas for over a week now...he watched How It's Made awhile back and they made a harmonica...so he needs a harmonica now.
I sent him a buttload of state quarters...I don't know which ones he needs for his collection, so I sent all I could find and he can spend the ones he doesn't need. $$$

I can't think of what I sent now...I am braindead...I forgot to enclose the letter I wrote him.

A dog outside just knocked me down a few minutes ago. It's gonna leave a mark, too.
But....not as bad as the "mark" Rachel got when she was here, and she fell down my steps. Had to take her to the ER. If anyone missed the picture of her bruised butt...I will post it in my blog or on myspace... bow

Tina--I have bought several gifts already. But for now, I am mainly just buying "stocking stuffers" I do have 1 larger gift that I have bought both the girls so I cannot mention what it is now---(Val is a member here)

Cindy--I agree--you are a Good Granny, and I am sure Brennan would agree.

yea, about My last christmas---I am not too clear about it. I know the kids were here but everything else is a fog.---I "must" have bought small things to put in the stockings before Aug 26th and then ordered a few things from Penneys, right befrore Christmas. I could not even tell you where we ate that day OR what we ate, on either Christmas Eve OR Christmas Day. blush

So do not be concerned with all of that, that you were talking about Cindy. Just having you on the road to a complete recovery will be gift enough for ALL of your loved ones I am sure!!

Cindy Lou Roscoe, one time my step dad gave my nephew a box of rocks and screws and old shoe strings and he played with that for years. He was the happiest kid in the world when he opened that.

I didn't see Rachel's bruise and I sure didn't know you have a blog. Is it censored or for adults only?

I'll have to go look and see...I haven't updated since my kitty cat died last month...and I had said to my bad self that I was gonna start blogging everyday.

Wow what a day I've had today.

With only two hours sleep last night yikes I still had to get a mountain of things done.

And because it is the end of October, I've started crafting for Christmas PLUS get Maxi ready for Halloween PLUS organize all the odds and ends he will need this weekend to finish that stupid craft project for English class. And then I decided to make an autumn wreath for our dining table so our orange tapers can sit inside it. As if I hadn't already made enough crafting mess!

Oh glue pots and glitter and yarn fuzz --- the stuff of the season! Gotta love it!

I'll take pictures to show y'all another time.

I stocked up on groceries because I'll be feeding three teenage boys this weekend.

80 degrees tomorrow?! yikes

It's winter in Maine.

Carol Jean, I am definitely going to bed early tonight! I just under half an hour, I will be under that cozy comforter. YAY!

I'm sad Maxi has to return home to an empty house tomorrow. I wish I could be here to welcome him. He will be home at 2:30 and I won't be in until 4, alas.

I wrote him a note and left him a treat on the computer so he'll see it first thing.

I used to like all of the crafty and kid stuff. I even went to Michael's yesterday for some inspiration and walked out without buying anything. I am so focused on outdoor things right now.

Closest AC Moore to me is Lexington...where I go to see the docs.
I went there a super long time ago and it seemed so expensive.
Is it?
...or was I just super poor at the time I went there? egad

I had really planned getting into a major Christmas gifting spirit this year. It has been a few years. John was not so much and squashed some of my enthusiasm. But I've so focused elsewhere that it is not coming. And not having little ones makes it harder.
I think all of the craft stores are more expensive these days like everything else in life. I get price-shock just walking into a grocery store.
I am heading off to bed soon. Good night all.

Nope, it isn't.

Have you ever been in a Franks? I love Franks but it is a budget-wrecker because I want at least one of every really good deal I see!!!! lol

Carol the AC Moore is only about 10 or 12 miles from here. I try to go up a couple times a year when I'm in that area for other reasons.

Can't wait to see my kid after dialysis today! It's been a seemingly long week without him.

Gotta go get ready to leave. See you all later.

There's an AC Moore maybe 20 minutes from me. I've never been there. I'll have to check it out. I'm not as crafty as most of you but I do like to make decorations for packages and buy stuff for Darbi and Tori to use in their crafts.

My friend, who works part time at the Health Department (2 days a week), was taken to the ER this week with what was thought to be a heart attack. She was sweating profusely and felt dizzy and faint. She's 62 or 63, tall and naturally thin, exercises daily, doesn't even like sweets, never eats fast food and never eats between meals. She says she's never hungry between meals. I thought if she's having a heart attack with those good habits I might as well shoot myself now.

They did a heart cathe and it turns out it wasn't a heart attack but something called takotsubo, which is a Japanese term that means octopus trap because the left ventricle of the heart actually takes on the shape of an octopus trap. I found this on www.takotsubo.com (hope it's ok to post that site). This problem is evidentially caused by stress, anger and built up resentment. It does cause changes that can be seen on an EKG if the person reading it knows what to look for.

It's something to know that stress can actually change the shape of ones heart.

She is an upbeat person with 3 successful sons and a husband that works in Paris but comes home a lot. They have a flat in Paris and she travels there all the time. She sends me post cards in French. It's so cool. They go cross country skiing with friends in Prague once a year. Her parents have a beach front place at Ormond Beach, Fla and she vacations there a lot. Last year they were in Hawaii for 2 weeks and in Arizona for at least a month. Their house in Charlotte is beautiful and big with a gigantic in ground pool. She doesn't act like she has one bit of stress.

She has to do cardiac rehab and a stress management class and her heart will totally recover.

Stress can hurt us more than we know.
