Hi Tommy Tiger,,

welcome to the Garden Helper
You didn't say How long ago you purchase it

But keep in mind, it's been moved from one environment to another so the chances of it being in shock is great.
Make sure there is enough room that the tips of the leaves don't touch anything, let it dry out a bit, don't fertilize it until
spring, and once you find the spot for it don't move it again other than rotating it, to get even light on all side ( one every 3-4 days or so).
Mine liked indirect light, and I didn't water until the first 2 inches of soil was dry.
From what I can tell it's not root-rot, the main stems are "Mushy" (soft) as long as they are hard it doesn't have root-rot,, at least in my experience.
Over all Give it time to adjust to a new Home,, keep us updated ~ expect a few leaves to drop while adjusting!
