I've had this in this bed for 3 years and had for 2 years before that. It's on it's own roots.I just LOVE it's smell and it SMELLS AWESOME with lots of them open.I have 2 plants in this bed. Then have an arbor with some on each side(an attempt to grow as climber..I'm still undecided if it will do....)For being a double...it holds it's
flowers good till rains then they will bend
here is info on lineage. It's German bred.1949
http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/pl.php?n=153&tab=10Notice the 1st picture.I have stood some iron that came off someone's porch in Dallas. They we're THROWING it away.BIL thought he was gonna scrap it.
see it painted with one coat?
My arbor looked better till Rita& I anchored it down with tent stakes.Lucky I didn't have the
rose attached to arbor. The arbor was blown over& one end in an apple tree. The other one blew over too,but the MG survived.
I painted my 1st coat to wind-blow-dry yesterday.I'll do the 2nd coat and place them tomorrow when the rain moves out.I don't think will set as in picture before painted. Is a
rose cane I can train up another level& I just LOVE being scratched by
roses & had one stuck in hair yesterday(I was digging lilly bulbils for relocating ) The smell was so NICE while painting.
flower child,,,,this
rose grows well for us!
