Here is a picture I took of a female Downy Woodpecker yesterday morning in my yard with that SAME camera and lens. I tokk this from about 10 feet away sitting outside on my porch. I used the built-in flash on my camera, and tweaked it in Adobe Photoshop Elements 7. ![[Linked Image]](http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a327/Thornius/DOWO06.jpg)

Nikon is every bit as good as Canon! It is just what is easiest for you to work with. The 75 - 300 MM lens is for Canon ONLY and wont work with any other brand, but Nikon has an equivalent lens. My son uses the Nikon D80. That or The D90 are equivalent to my Canon. I don't know what Nikon's lens is that is equivalent to mine.

Nikon has the Equivalent, Nikkor 70 - 200 MM Telephoto Zoom lens. I don't know if my son has that lens. My son has SEVERAL lenses for his Nikon. I have only the ONE lens for my Canon.

yes Sheri, the class sounds as if it is definately teh way to go.
I have a Nikon but it is not of the quality it might be, sad to say.
DH had a very nice canon--but he sold it. not to be sad--it was not digital.

mIGHT BE ABLE TO GET IT ON PAYMENTS?
The nicest things about this one, We just plug in the battery charger into the wall. I had them batteries almost 2 years now.. And you take the digital photos an upload them on the computer with the USB port. ' DOnt have to take them to get developed. And you can mess aroung with them till your hearts content, Learning ....... Like they say , hands on learning .
Mine is 2 years old now an I had taken 9999 photos and it turned back to one again. 2112 right now. See not all the photos are good , so one just deletes the bad ones an doesnt have to up load them......Lots o messing around.
Hope your able to manage it . Junigirl..
I think Diane has the Point an shoot.. We have to ask her questions. Nikon I think.

my Nikon is a digital so I understand about the not having to keep the photos a person does not want--I am all for that, for sure.
I will have to aquaint myself with teh terminology--a point & shoot?? does that mean she just looks at an object & pushes the button ??

Junigirl,
Heck I dont know ??????????? Thats why we have to ask Diane.LOL
My next question . Is how do we know which camerasare digital? Are they all? Which cameras will have a battery charger ?
I dont like the ones that have regular batterys in like Everready etc.
Now our electronics store left town, where I bought canon. I annot experiment with new ones......
Walmart has their camera tied down with chain an tackle here.
LOL

well I thinjk most cameras are digital. about waht they come thwe or what is availabe yo can ask to read teh box or ask the workers at whatever store there is availabe. we just had a new camera store come into town, a few months ago. I cannot believe between Wal-mart, target, & Best Buy they could survive. I am however glad to see them trying. I too would much rather get a camera at a camera store.

We have walmart, and Staples. I arent too sure of the staple place. Only carry small stuff.
Canon and Nikon are the route to go.

The camera store where Johnny bought mine closed down too. It wasn't a big store like Best Buy but had been in Charlotte forever. I was sad to see it close.
Barb, how do we tell how many pictures we've taken on the Cannon?
