tapfoot As you may recall, I have been having serious internet connection problems since last September or longer. My ISP is a young local couple trying to get a biz going so I put up with the inconvenience of having to reload every other page for a long time while they built a new tower. It didn't help.
After my yelling a bit they came out two different times, each time promising to be back within 2 days. I spent a couple hours and finally discovered that their cable was shorting out... could I please come down and pick one up and I would install it myself. A week later I wrote again (with an attitude)
The next day, on Dec. 18th, the wife came up and declared that the cable was 'fine' and in spite of witnessing how unstable the connection was, left and said hubby would return the following evening. 10 days ago...
I think I deserve the "Most Patient gnome of the Year" award myself bow and I may decide to post a warning to the valley folks about "The WORST ISP" award rspb

However! Tomorrow I am having WildBlue satellite internet installed!

Dodge! Maybe you should check this out...
I am getting the Gold Package but I'm sure the basic would work for you.
(If you do get it, please say I sent you and I get $50 blush

Its not as fast as my old ISP, but it never fails. It would be faster if I cut down some big trees so the receiver could be closer to the house, but I like my trees too much for that!

I wish you ALOT of luck with wild blue...I had their service for about a year and the service was very bad....and in the end they let me out of my contract because they couldn't get my service fixed, so I changed to hughesnet and I have never been happier with an ISP. Wild Blue rents space on some of hughes satellites, because wild blue have too many subscribers and too few satellites. I hope you will have better luck with them!!!
