I'm Not sure if wood peckers made these two holes in my tree,, Thorney or Bill would you confirm or not if these holes are made by woodpeckers?? IF So do they 'nest' in there?? That particular tree limb is 'dead' and more then likely hollow I will be posting 4 pictures in completion to this post Feel free to edit  The tree.... ![[Linked Image]](http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss241/2thtek2/Birds/woodpeckerholesmaybe.jpg) My woodpeckers,,, ![[Linked Image]](http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss241/2thtek2/Birds/downywp2.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss241/2thtek2/Birds/downywp.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss241/2thtek2/Birds/wpatwork.jpg)

They sure look like woodpecker holes to me... but with three of them right there, I'm not sure if they are using them as a home. Thorney will have a better idea. Beautiful birds, especially the last one!

Thanks Wild Willy,, The last woodpecker was hard to capture I love the sound he makes, I always know when he is near,, but he's not one to be still too long when I spot him I'll Be interested in what Thorny has to say, I've watched the tree limb I've not seen woodpeckers go in out or out of the holes

Those APPEAR to be Woodpecker holes. Keep an eye on them this spring and Summer. The first two pictures are a male and female Downy Woodpecker. The third picture is a male Red-Bellied Woodpecker.
