Hi there.

I lady at work gave me a dieffenbachia that she had been growing in water with pebbles. I don't know what type of dief it is, but it has very small leaves and stems. I have rooted them in water before, but never grown them that way. Is it possible to leave it as it is? It's a really cute looking plant. I want it to do the right thing.

Please help.

I forgot to mention that I plan to leave it at work. It's about 4 feet under fluorescent lights, 20 feet away from a large, wall length south window and about 25 feet diagonal from southeast facing glass doors. That's all the light it would get.

In Miriam's office there were no windows. Quite a bit of fluorescent light though.

i'm a firm believer in putting plants that normally grow in soil, in soil. i have several "lucky" bamboos in soil and they are so much happier.

Thanks Jiffy. I'll start transitioning it to soil.
