I have a achmea silver vase bromeliad that i have had for about 2 years now. It has flowered twice and has 4 pups about the same size as the original plant. I am wondering why the parent plant has not died as i have heard happens with bromeliads. Would it be wise to separate these pups before the parent dies? Or should i put all of them in a larger pot?

Welcome, gus. Was the second bloom from an offset or the main plant? If from the main, you got lucky. They don't always die but they often never bloom again. You are supposed to remove the 'pups' when they are about a third of the size of the mother plant and discard the mother plant. I don't toss anything that is still living though.
These are beautiful plants.
