I was watching a cooking show the other day and the lady had purple carrots!!!!!!!!!!! I want some sooooooo bad! I mean how awesome is that!?! Does anyone know the name ot these awesome dye-dyed looking cuties, or know where I can find some seeds for them? THanks guys!

I've seen seed called 'Confetti'. The carrots were purple and yellow mixed. Gurney's has them...called "Rainbow blend", some are even red in the mixed package.

Oh, that sounds cool! These were two-toned purple and just dark purple, but she was cutting them up together so I wonder if they were the same???

Hi Eva I've grown purple carrots and found out from my seed supplier that the orange variety have only been around for a few hundred years. It was originally an unusual strain from Nth Africa and the Dutch aristocracy fell in love with it as it is their national colour. She even said there's a black variety but that seed is a little hard to get hold of. Happy growing!


My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it.
