I'm thinking of a few of songs which I can't remember exactly. They are:

The good times are coming, they'll be coming real soon, and I'm not just pitching pennies at the moon....

Next one:

eliminate the negative and latch on to the affirmative

Last one:

Oh gee, I don't remember enough of it to post but it IS another old song about a positive attitude! lol

Can anyone help?

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

The Good Times Are Coming

I'm not about to come unhinged when everything goes wrong
A fact is something to be faced
But not for very long

The good times are coming
They'll be coming real soon
And I'm not just pitching pennies at the moon
The good times are coming
When they come I'll be there
With my both feet firmly planted in mid air

There's gonna be a place for us
A place where we belong
'Cause to stand outside just looking in
Has got to be all wrong

The good times are coming
They'll be coming real soon
And I'm not just pitching pennies at the moon
The good times are coming
When they come I'll be there
With my both feet firmly planted way up there
In mid air

John Barry
Hal David
sung by Cass Elliot (Mama Cass)

Ac-cent-tchu-ate The Positive by Ella Fitzgerald
Gather 'round me, everybody
Gather 'round me, while I preach some
Feel a sermon coming on here
The topic will be sin
And that's what I'm agin'
If you wanna hear my story
Then settle back and just sit tight
While I start reviewing
The attitude of doing right

You got to ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive
E-lim-i-nate the negative
And latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with mister inbetween

You got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
And have faith, or pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene

To illustrate my last remark
Jonah in the whale, noah in the ark,
What did they do, just when everything looked so dark?
Man, they said, we better

Ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive
E-lim-i-nate the negative
And latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with mister inbetween

High Hopes?
(Next time you're found with your chin on the ground)

(There's a lot to be learned so look around)

Just what makes that little ole ant

Think he'll move that rubber tree plant?

Anyone knows an ant can't

Move a rubber tree plant

{But he's got hi-i-igh hopes, he's got hi-i-igh hopes}

{He's got high apple pi-i-ie-in-the-sk-y-y hopes}

So, any time you're gettin' low, 'stead of lettin' go, just remember that ant

Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant

(Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant)

{Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant}

(When troubles call and your back's to the wall)

(There a lot to be learned that wall could fall)

Once there was a silly old ram

Thought he'd punch a hole in a dam

No one could make that ram scram

He kept buttin' that dam

{'cause he had hi-i-igh hopes, he had hi-i-igh hopes}

{He had high apple pi-i-ie-in-the-sk-y-y hopes}

So, any time your feelin' bad, 'stead of feelin' sad, just remember that ram

Oops, there goes a billion-kilowatt dam

(Oops, there goes a billion-kilowatt dam)

{Oops, there goes a billion-kilowatt dam }

<brief instrumental>

<One girl's voice> (A problem's just a toy balloon, they'll be bursted soon)

(They're just bound to go pop) <SOUND EFEFCT-"Pop!">

<Frank chimes in>

Oops, there goes another problem ker-plop

(Oops, there goes another problem ker-plop)

{Oops, there goes another problem ker-plop}

(Ker-plop!)

Yes, thank you! The first two were the ones I couldn't quite get back in my head! lol

But the third one, which is so vague right now, isn't High Hopes. I was just singing that this morning while I was trying to remember the other one!

I thought I was on the track with Shirley Temples Be Optimistic, but it isn't quite right. Then I thought maybe it was Gene Kelly singing about Smile, but the only one I can remember by him is "Singing In the Rain" and that isn't it!

Unfortunately, Tam, all I can remember is a movie scene of a classroom w/ desks and the students singing.

Accentuate The Positive
Words: Johnny Mercer
Music: Harold Arlen
Performed By: Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby(1945), The Andrews Sisters (1945), Ella Fitzgerald, Willie Nelson
Copyright: Unknown

You've got to accentuate the positive,
Eliminate the negative,
And latch on to the affirmative,
Don't mess with Mister In-Between.

You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium's
Li'ble to walk upon the scene.

(Bridge)
To illustrate my last remark
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark.
What did they do just when ev'rything looked so dark?

Man, they said "We'd better accentuate the positive
"Eliminate the negative
"And latch on to the affirmative -
Don't mess with Mister In-Between, no, no,
Don't mess with Mister In-Between."
