Ok, I know that you can cut back petunias when they get too scraggly, or pinch heads to make fuller. But I have a verbena that I brought out of my greenhouse, and I am wondering if there is something I can do to make it bloom more or become fuller. It was already blooming in greenhouse, but it is a little too tall and more scraggly than I like.

pinching the tips back a bit to just above a node will make it fuller.

How'd you overwinter in your GH?I've tried it but do the cold GH thing. It works for petunias though.I always lose the verbenia.can also try a non nitrogen fertilizer for a boost.

Yes, when verbena becomes too scraggly you can cut it back and it will grow fuller. Also, I go through every week or two and remove the old blooms, even though it really isn't necessary. I do it because I think it makes it look nicer...you don't have the dead brown flower remains that will however eventually fall off.

I built this "greenhouse" out of the plastic 4 x 8 sheets (the kind that look like tin - all wavy and stuff), pvc pipe and posts. It has a door but no windows so when I close it up, it stays pretty warm in winter, extremely hot in summer. I use it to store plants, start seedlings, etc. nothing fancy. But I have great sucess with storing all my outdoor container plants and hanging baskets during winter.
