corn spacing

My drip irrigation line has drippers 12 inches apart. My raised bed is 40 inches wide. I was contemplating planting 4 rows of corn: 5 inches from the edge and 10 inches apart. Are these rows too close?
Appreciate any feedback...

Now when I was a boy, I used to plant my corn by "step-drapping". Ye takes a STEP and DRAPS a kernel of corn, takes a STEP and DRAPS a kernel of corn. Gives ye perfect spacin'!

I think I would go ahead and plant the way you would like. As they grow and if you see some struggling due to lack of space, you can thin those poorly performing ones out from between the stronger.
