Howdy All!

I have a couple questions about a couple of my plants. I have a Peace lily that was doing fine and growing over the winter, but it had a hard time. A bunch of the leaves are brown/wrinkly, but the stems seem fine. Will it come back? Are peace lily's like that? I also have a small palm tree, but that one has some black patches on the stems, and a couple of the leaves have died. Is this bad? What can I do to fix this? I tried to take a couple pictures tonight, but my lighting (apparently) is junk. I'll try to get some tomorrow, but thanks for any help you can give me!

I don't know these plants in particular, but it sounds like an over watering, lack of air circulation, maybe fungal thing. Tell us some about your watering routine and lighting, please.

Brown wrinkly leaves can also be from the dry winter air in your house. Make sure the leaves are not dusty (if so put them in the shower to give them a good cleaning) and try misting them periodically. These two plants are picky about the humidity level.

I only water when I can feel the soil dry about half a finger length down, and I mist the palm/fern (whatever it is) every morning and evening, because I know it needs a higher humidity. I am also trying to find a way to get a tray of water underneath it as well.

I had a peacelily and it did ok for a while and after that seemed to commit suicide......
Maybe it liked the outdoors and I didnt put it out.

I am no help, but wondered why they looked so good in the store.
