Hi again,, just took a break from cleaning extra bedroom.. dust city in there- the dust bunnies have an entire town going in there.
It's now cloudy and thundering in the distance so am goign to shut down and unplug for a while--- it's getting closer.. there is a tornado watch down south too... not close though...
I don't know what we will do - there is ususally a pkg deal offered when another co buys so if we get a deal we may take it- buy our own health insurance and go from there... Merme last time we moved our kids all followed us so who knows- may have to have a family compound whereever we go...LOL!Carrie checked her lottery tkts no winners for us this time,.. !

thanks--and yes, I'll TTYL also.
If I am not around, here is what I will be doing.
Tonight, at 6 my favorite Nursery is having an open house. They will have a speaker explaining things about the plants they will have to offer & gardening in general. also they will have Susan B. Komen T-shirts for sale. 100% of the cost will go to the foundation. then any time the shirt is worn to the nursery the wearer will get a 10% discount on his/her purchases.
and it will get me out of here--and get my mind on gardening!!!!!

That sounds like fun, Carol. Every time I hear about lay-offs and out of work friends, I stress. The economy is improving but the jobs are not. I would love to win the lottery and employ some people.

Next door to whom? My heat would kill you, Tamara. And you would so miss your grandbaby. That being said, I sure could use help with housecleaning.

well ladies, I have decided not to go.
I really do not feel like going out in the spring evening air, and after I drive that far (about 30 minutes) I think everything would be rained out, as the radar says rain is on it way. so I will be home tonight after all. why

and Tina, Ok then I will move next to you, if you win the lottery.
BTW: Do you still have to BUY those pesky tickets in order to win??? lol

I have a prayer burden for unemployeed and underemployed people I know. It seems that as the months go by, my list is getting longer and longer!

I keep that list on my ice box next to the prayers & relief fund reminders for Haiti so it gets daily attention.

I have great faith that each situation will work out in time.

It rained for a little bit today and got quite cold. Maxi is outside playing with his friends but they've all got heavy coats on.

Carol should have a great time at her event. Can't wait to hear about it!

Merme, is it cold enough to snow there? We get your weather once you're done with it and they are saying a chance of snow for us this week end.

I just woke from a nap. Was considering going outside to see what else I could do and ended up washing my dishes instead. I may yet go out. But don't need to. It is warming up this afternoon finally as the clouds dissipate.

We clouded up again and it rained... there were tornado warning and such south of us.. but nothing touched down which is good... still light but sun is going down and it's getting darker out there.
I got the extra bedroom cleaned out and moved furniture around in there too so I could vacuum under the bed good... kids were made caue the game cube is in there and I wouldn't let them in... they played the other two systems... not like they were really deprived... LOL!
Joe is hanging my magnet/memo board up for me... been waiting for a while...
As far as J's job - it will take a yr for them to get the details worked out and permission from all the agencies involved so nothing will happen fast at least- give us time to get our health stuff done and decide where we want to go.... he said he knew a few weeks ago there was going to be something coming cause the co wanted a volutary questionair done that took 2 1/2 hours to fill out on company time- was very detailed- he said no way... if it's not mandatory he's not doing it... was something this new company wanted to figure out who to keep and who to let go he thinks... we are union so they will have to honor our contract too - so we have till the first of next yr to figure this out and see what we want to do.

wavy Hi everyone! Not cooking tonight so I have a little extra computer time. Aros is ordering pizza for him and the kids. I haven't figured out what I want yet but I'm craving something I know I shouldn't eat but I'm thinking of eating it anyway and suffering the consequences. Work was better this week, the virus is gone, yay! The kids are doing fine and looking forward to warmer weather and summer vacation already. I found out that I have to have a couple of biopsies done on my thyroid, but I'm keeping a positive attitude that everything will be benign. My car is sounding weird today but it's driving fine so I guess it's nothing to worry about. Nothing much planned this weekend. Allergy shots and laundry tomorrow, possibly a run around the lake. Rest and spend time with Aros on Saturday and Sunday it's back to work and my long run for the week.

I have a love/hate relationship with paying my bills. Feels good to take care of it yet there are so many other things I'd rather do with the money. I won't have a house full of food until Saturday. Ick, I don't like to shop on Saturdays but if we wait until the evening it's not so crowded. Not having food in the house is usually what gets me to cave and eat things I shouldn't.

Glad people seem to be feeling better.

We had a good dinner tonight. I did chores, though, after dinner rather than resting and I got hungry again! boohoo

We had to break open new jars of peanut butter & jelly!

Gotta go make a cup of Earl Grey tea....

April is just a heavy bill month with a couple of yearly things coming in. And then Jonni had a rather large dental bill the last couple of months.
I stockpile food. Just for times like this and for major emergencies. We will not starve. We could eat well and healthily for a month at least. Having my own fruit trees and neighbors who garden veggies helps with fresh stuff too.

Someday I'm going to have a house that has an apple tree, a plum tree, and a cherry tree. I think that's about all we can grow here. Someday I'm going to have a house with a yard where I can do my own veggie gardening too. Fresh grown produce really is the best.

Merme, we keep missing each other! Maybe I can catch you tomorrow after I'm done with my errands.

Cheryl, if you planted a pear you'd have the makings of a Soulcake song! "An apple, a pear, a plum a cherry, many good things to make us all merry!"

I will be on tomorrow around dinner time (Eastern) after I get back from dialysis.

Maybe you'll be done your errands by then!

Merme

If you had a small greenhouse or a large window you could do dwarf citrus. I am pretty sure you could grow grapes.
I am growing my tomatoes and peppers in hanging buckets to try to keep the critters away. We will see how it goes. Produce for me here is very hard. The climate also fosters the things that eat the things I want to grow.

wavy Hi everybody!

Another busy day underway, the last week day of spring break for our district. Maxi had made plans to have some kids in for a sleep over that didn't work out, so he is a little bummed.

I woke up all puffy so I think I must have put a bunch of weight on yesterday. boohoo Well, they will get as much of it as they can at dialysis. It is just the meantime, feeling all swollen. yuck.

Rain for us today also, Tam.

Can't believe I missed Diane! I've been waiting and waiting for her to feel better and visit w/ us again.

Well, maybe there will be a Friday Night party in the CH tonight! thumbup

Well, an easy job it was. Housecleaning a tiny bathroom. More money, more money...

Got some laundry on and need to take a trip to the store but I'm too lazy to drive grin Did I mention I dislike driving very much.
