My main hobby is gardening. A side hobby is collecting junk, I guess. I have been trying to clean up a lot of the collected things outdoors that I will never use. I kept looking at the old toilet sitting on my back patio just hanging around and looking even more 'junky' than I could handle. So I decided to stick it up on the hillside and plant it. And while I was at it I figured I would move the sink I had planted years before up there too. And I had a tub we stored firewood for our outdoor fire pit in so up on the hillside, hidden behind the guy-zebo it all went. But it looked too stark and white and naked up there (even though it isn't really visible) so I took spray paint to it.

Better but still too naked. I planted a bunch of baby shrubs around it in a rectangle. Added a little more 'furniture' and covered the 'floor' with weed cloth then covered that with planter mix. I added an arched doorway (more junk) and it is pretty much finished now. This is what you see when you come round the back of the guy-zebo now And a little closer

The shrubs planted around the 'walls' will get about 4 ft tall and fill in eventually. I plan on adding some solar lighting. I may plant and tuck more 'furniture' in there as I go along. A garden is such a fluid thing and ever changing.

Too cute. I can't wait to see it all grow and fill in.
What kind of shrubs did you plant?

Around the outside are mostly heavenly bamboo, a few New Zealand red flax, asparagus ferns, and gardenias. A couple gaura, too.. For over the arch I have a jasmine ready to begin.

That's going to be lovely.
I get so excited to see when you all plant things that won't grow here...I love to see how they grow and bloom.

Inside the waste basket and toilet are a couple of felicias. The stacking storage has blue lobelia on top, white petunias, middle and red petunias below. The tub is planted with iceland poppies, delphiniums and lithodora (grace ward). There are some carnations around there and petunias and poppies and things planted under the sink. In the sink are some succulents.

Tamara, you could probably grow the annual Felicia bergeriana, kingfisher daisy. Mine are a perennial small shrub that can take my temperate winters. But they are pretty short lived even here and only good for about 3 years.

We built the gazebo with a place in mind for my daughter to play during deer fly season (nasty biting flies). But she always made such a mess of it she was practically banned. Then my son took it over to escape from the bugs and we put that sign up to annoy my daughter. He has down syndrome and was not very good at shooing those flies away. Now no one uses it because it is stuffed with storage. But that will change. The outdoor bathroom's name has now been changed to the butterfly garden. It really looks nice up there all aflutter with them. So I decorated it it with some solar lit butterflies and other solar lights. Night pictures soon.
