I am having something go wrong with my potatoes. This is the first time I have tried to grow them. I Planted them Feb 15 2010. and In Hawaii and they get full sun. It has been colder here, but colder here is about low 70's.

As potato plants grow they need to be covered...you have to keep mounding soil up over them.

I don't understand.. The potato you planted becomes the seed then sends out roots. The roots then form all new potatoes.

I have...and they were seeds...which were actually potatoes that had sprouts on them. You need to hill them. The new potatoes grow off of the stems...which turn into roots. Cover them up and once they poke out from the hills cover them one more time. Tom

I'm in zone 3 and plant them right in the ground...they like the cold at first..it doesn't bother them at all.
