Hi Ya know I read this a few years back, I dont remember why or how though.

and yes it seems extreme by today's standards but ya know, as much as I would not live like that now, I think the world was a slower, more happy place when this was the way of things.

These articles ticked my mother off, big time. She was a staunch women libber long before the word was coined. She also worked long hard hours and expected help with the house and kids. I was around 5 when that article came out. I am glad that era bypassed me too.

Dhuber- You know I think I was born at the wrong time as well...
I do all of those other that the the getting dressed up one, but DH loves us just hanging out in comfy clothes... I even have his robe and slippers waiting in the entry way so I can take his coat and boots so he can get comfy when it is cold out.. What can I say I have an amazing hubby and with all of the little ways he shows he cares it is the least I can do..

I was born 1 1/2 years after this article was written. I've known women who choose to live that way and women who'd never would. It doesn't seem to me that either group was happier than the other as it was a matter of preference in a tough world.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Back in those days ,it was survival of the family.
They had a good meaning of working with your hands an not starving

My daddy was a dairy farmer....He kept many families together after a mine explosion killed the husbands. He gave them milk , potatoes, and any food we could spare to keep the kids alive.

The biggest problem in the world today, no one is willing to work with the hands to raise food . An we did all our own building. Butchered an froze cows , pig an chickens......10 of us plus mom an dad. We had to work hard.

ALL I can say about this article is times have gone by, Women aren't so submissive as that these days. And IF they are they are probably being abused in some form of the relationship.
I do everything in my power to please Dwight, But not taking away from myself to do it., I remain an individual, that expects to be reciprocated with kindness and respect. I cater at times because I want to not because it was/is depicted that I should, Some of the things listed in that article is ridiculous egad and overly submissive. rolz That was written the year I was born,, lol 'nough said about that,, haha.
Dodge I hear ya when you basically said ,, people now days want things without working hard for it,, Lord I work hard for 98% of what I have the other 2% came to me as gifts, and I take care of gifts as if I worked hard and purchased /made it myself. grin

I wasnt talking about you ......
Too many bad things happen to kids cause they aren't having a parent at home .
Singles have to work.
But no one controls the kids like the mom in the olden days.

Never mind.. Work never killed anyone.

My one sister was an excellent worker. She was married 3 times ,2 kids.
What she told me one day, she is an excellent worked, but a stupid selector of men..LOL Was true .

Don't complain if he stays out all night.

Ok, I won't as long as he NEVER comes back to my house.
