Afternoon all. DH had a meeting early this a.m. so I followed him to town. I'm racking my brain at the moment trying to figure out where some missing money went from the past two weeks...balancing check books with two people using the same one sometimes gets hectic. I'll have to visit the bank to be sure but $140 is unaccounted for

Oh no, Tam, I hope you find the money quickly!
I made pork & bean salad open faced sandwiches for lunch. Now Maxi is getting a shower and I am going to rest my back. I have been in my chair 7 hours and am aching!
I'll be back later.

Carol Maxi was the one who got the shower, not me! I'm sure it helped him, though! He & his friend Dom are walking to the Chinese restaurant to get take out for our dinner. This place has really inexpensive meals we all like & it is close by. That makes it easy when the boys are over. Dom is a picky eater & won't eat my cooking so when he stays with us for a weekend, he runs home for meals. Tonight he will eat with us!

The boys are taking so long with this errand, I'm guessing they decided to eat there and will bring mine home after. We aren't far enough away for it to take this long to go to & fro.
I forgot to take my Mirapex last night and today I have that RLS in my hips, knees and shoulder. It is driving me crazy to be so twitchy! But that's what I get for forgetting my pills!

The boys got home before dark, YAY! They'd had to stop at Dom's house so Maxi could use the bathroom. He ate cereal w/ real milk today instead of his almond breeze fake milk and he reacted to it! Dom is going to church with us in the morning and I hope the kids settle down & get some sleep tonight. They were up til 2:30 AM last night!

Glad they got home safe, merme.
I hope they get some sleep too, but boys will be boys I guess. The good news is as they are young it will not take the toll on then like it would an older person.

No, no coffee this evening although I was getting ready to make some! Coffee doesn't make me this way... it is a matter of my soul wanting to be more active than I am, I think.
But I sure am glad the boys settled.
Spoke w/ my sick niece for a while. I've been calling her every evening after visiting hours to give people a chance to be with her. No one visited today so she was able to take all her treatments & rest. We are all praying for good news on Monday when her test results come back.
Did you have a nice evening, Carol?

Cheryl. I imagine that you have not gained fat--you have gained muscle, and unfortunately it weighs something too. the more you cut out the less your body is going to get by on---until you will have to just about eat nothing to lose any weight---I would research a bit before I cut out any more foods if i were you.
I know from my going to weight watchers, that your body can reach a point where if you eat less it uses less. you need to review what you are eating & perhaps eat more of the healthy stuff, esp when it comes to breakfast. & then no late (after 7pm )eating I know that I have gained some muscle, at least recently. Starting last November I didn't run more than a few times until the middle of January so the weight I gained then I know wasn't muscle. I'm not cutting out how much I eat, I'm cutting out the bad foods I've been addicted to. I eat way too many rice products, most of my diet is rice based because of cost and convenience. I'm adding in more fruits and vegetables and upping my protein to include more lean meats. I'm cutting out processed foods and cutting back on rice and trying to eat healthier carbs like sweet potatoes, quinoa, and brown rice instead of all the white rice stuff I was eating. I haven't only gained weight, I have gained fat and you can see it. I'm often asked if I'm pregnant. It's embarrassing and it was my own fault for eating such a poor diet. Now, I'm getting myself back to the healthy eating habits I used to have. I've tried the whole counting calories thing to lose weight and that doesn't work for me. So, instead of concentrating on calories I try to concentrate on the nutritious value of what I'm putting into my body and I'm not too concerned about weight, I go more by how my clothes fit and I take periodic measurements to track my progress. Sorry, didn't mean to give a speech there, I just wanted to explain that I'm not on a diet, I'm just revamping my eating habits to be healthier. I have studied a lot on nutrition and I used to eat healthy and felt great. Somehow I got caught up in carb cravings, and I just need to break that. Anyway, had a pretty good day today reading a very good book, about running, lol. It's also a true story and very fascinating. It's called, Born to Run. I had reserved at the library but there are literally about 300 people ahead of me so I broke down and bought it. We just had dinner, I had polenta with spinach and peas and Aros and the kids had caesar salad, french onion soup, and bread. Tomorrow I have to work so I won't be staying up real late tonight. Hope everyone has a good Sunday!

Merme, I'm hoping to train for my first marathon in about a year. I really want to do the Rock & Roll marathon and it's in June so I'm way to late for it this year. However, I will be starting a half marathon training program in June for a half marathon in September. Is your nephew running his marathon tomorrow or next Sunday? Tell him good luck from me!

Cheryl--sounds like you have a great handle on what to do and how to go about it. I assume the celiac program is going well?/ I know there was a time when my mom's stomach pooched out. and if you knew how small she was it really showed up. but it is all under control now--- I wish you the best. Nighty night to everyone

It's under control as much as I allow it. I'm not always very strict and maybe that's part of the problem with the pregnant looking belly. Hope you have non-crazy dreams, good night!
