Well, not really, I have two left feet and a severe lack of coordination.

It must either be very hard or very expensive to buy shoes for two left feet. Good night all.

Good morning..very cloudy out there today. Hoping it clears up so I can paint.
Praying Lynne is o.k., heard about a bomb in Times Square this morning, and prayers for all~tornado's running ramped through the US also. So sad.

Thanks Tamara - we are fine - we live 40 miles outside of NYC, but our daughter lives in Manhattan for another 10 days until her semester is over! Not at Times Square, but I do worry when things like this happen in the city, especially after 9/11.
I, too, hope everyone is ok after the tornados. I keep asking - what is up with Mother Nature this year? It's been a very strange year for all sorts of weather - we had the wettest March on recored ever this year, also have had record breaking high temperatures already. Then there are all the tornados and earthquakes! Calm down, Mother Nature!

I'm so glad that we don't get tornadoes here, however we do get earthquakes. Hope everyone stays safe. I'm at work and finishing my coffee. Not too much to do on Sundays. I play receptionist for an hour in the afternoon and do paperwork. That's about it. It may or may not rain today and we're still in the low to mid 50's.

Good afternoon. It is raining. It has been raining. Today, we are under a flash flood, tornado watch, thunderstorm something... . The list goes on. Speaking of which-- maybe some of you folks here can answer a question for me.
Friday evening it rained like crazy and we had the longest thunderstorm I have ever experienced. It started-- and by that I mean it was on top of us-- at about 8:30 or so and lasted until well past 10:30 before it moved off. During the storm there were both cloud to cloud and ground strike lightening. One strike was just over there (see me motioning to the property line that's maybe about 250 yards away.
After the storm passed, we lost power. It was completely pitch black dark. I stepped outside and saw a LOT of small bright flashes of light I'd gauge from about ground level to about 40-50 feet in the air. SO my first thought was, wow! that's weird, it's too early (season) and too late (night) for fireflies. But it wasn't fireflies-- they have a yellowish light. This light was clear white. John came out and saw it, too. And not just in the back where the fields and scrub are, but in front where the "lawn" is.
Any thoughts? There was a tremendous amount of electrical activity that night, but I've never heard of anything like this. And I've never seen it before.
Hope all is well with everyone and that you're all having a nice quiet Sunday!
EDIT: Ours is going relatively well except we have no water and no phone. There's water in the phone lines, and there was a water main break somewhere. Fortunately, we are stocked up for just such an occasion.

sounds like the remnants of lighting, after it had struck ground,, I've seen them here after an "electrical storm" Very weird thing to see, and YEP I saw where you were pointing,

I've never seen it but have heard about it...something about a 'traveling spark'..lightening can go from the ground up to the air. Stay safe. O.k. I'm done lugging on branches and trees for the day. It's harder to cut brush than anything else, the chainsaw just bounces off the limbs. I need a good spacing saw...DH is up in the field finishing it all up. I admit defeat. Supper is on, gonna grab a shower in a few and relax for the rest of the day

Marica, glad you're okay. That "light" show you had sounds pretty neat though. We get the wimpiest thunderstorms here. I haven't seen a good thunderstorm since I used to visit my great grandma in Minnesota and the summer I spent with my dad in Florida. I personally enjoy thunderstorms so it's really disspointing to me that we don't have them here. I've lived here 20 years as of this month and can only remember 2 or 3 halfway decent thunderstorms. We get windstorms and those can be fun. Yes I know, I'm strange. Tamara, get to resting, you've done a lot of hard work. I don't think I could ever be able to work on a farm. 30 more minutes before I get to go play receptionist.

We get an occasional thunder storm here. A few good ones. They don't last long enough. And not like I saw when I lived back east.

gracious---I was hoping that one of us would be exempt from the storms. I hope they are mistaken about that. No storm as predicted last night, just 5/10 of an inch of rain. Cloudy & overcast now but no storms are predicted. going to watch the second installment of "The story of u s" tonight. going to get a Pizza ready for the oven--be back later

It was an exceptionally long day and I'm not feeling very well, so I am going to make it an early night.
We just crammed way too much into our day and then my Sunday attendant got us into a car accident. It was minor as we were in a parking lot, but it shook us up.
We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Good morning, everybody! We are having scattered showers sent to us from Carol Jean's part of the world. Thanks, Carol! We need the water. I had the fun of paying bills this morning. It is a task I like to accomplish first thing. The on-line feature sure makes it easy enough. Merme

Hi Tam ~ you crept in while I was sidetracked with my post. I started typing, Maxi needed me for something, I went in his room to realize I didn't like how it smelled, so I went back in the kitchen & got his room air Fabreeze, went back to his room, sprayed it around, put it away, helped him figure out what to wear today.... By that time, you'd been here and posted already! The accident was stupid. My girl was parked nose-in at the little shopping center near me, just like everyone else parks. She drives a huge Ford Explorer. Some guy pulled in behind her and stopped his car, so he was perpendicular to her. She saw him there and thought he was moving along because where he was is not a parking zone. So, she got in and backed right into him! He said "you always look first before backing up!" She said "why would you park there? That's crazy!" So the police came & said "it's an accident." So we were delayed quite some time & she had to call her mom & dad....

Wow...Geez..that could have been a child behind her, who doesn't look while backing up? Scarey. I'm a Febreeze lover as well...I told DH the day he cuts off my Mr.Clean, Lestoil and Febreeze money~I'm leaving him

Like most of my girls do when they are caught doing something wrong, she gave a complicated (stupid) excuse rather than just instantly being contrite and learning from what happened.
All this excuse making really bothers me... no one accepts responsibility for themselves, it seems.
I enjoy the smell of most cleaning products and I like the way they freshen the place up a good bit.

This morning I am cleaning up from our messy weekend! Then I will go to dialysis. Maxi will be home from school by the time I get back. Then I am going to use a special mix for potato Soup a friend gave us yesterday and serve it with this wonderful uncut bread we have. Then tonight we have a ton of paperwork to complete for Maxi's competition in June. After that, it's anybody's guess!

We make soup often & I have some very good recipes also but a buddy gave us this mix and it looks good enough to try although I am not usually a "mix" sort of person. Crab bisque is great! We also enjoy Lobster Bisque. When are you going to town for your errands and can I come along? What might we be doing in town today?

I'm not going to town...just to the local little store and bank(15 minutes from here), but you can still come. I have to be there for 10...an appointment to set up a payment plan for DH since he's on a new idea again of things. I just have a few groceries to pick up..

I would like to go to the bank and pick up groceries. Why don't you stop by around 9 AM so we won't be late for 10?

Good Morning I'm just popping in and going to pop right back out. I haven't read back so I hope I'm not in the middle of a conversation. If so, sorry. I just thought you all might find this funny and maybe have had a similar thing happen. Yesterday I cleaned my bathroom, totally, including moping. I put my supplies away and came back to the door, just to observe my handy work. There set a fat, brown spider in the middle of the floor! I put my hands on my hips and said, "So, where did you come from?" He rolled his eyes and said (I KNOW he did!) "I'll never tell." I went to get a kleenex to pick him up with and came back, and he was gone Now I don't know where he came from...OR...where he went! I should have stepped on him!!!

Well, I get up at 6 am and wait for a few before I even get on here...the time difference is just awful. Hello all, just got back from doing errands...laundry is on and there's still a never ending list of inside things to do. The weather is awful, it couldn't rain any harder if it tried.
