Please pray for my friend Rachel here in Maine. She's been in the hospital w/ a very difficult pregnancy. Just now she's been taken to Labor & Delivery and she is way too too early -- 10 to 14 days earlier than what the docs think the baby can survive outside of her. Not 2 weeks early in total, but 2 weeks earlier than any safety zone. Their efforts to hold off dilation and labor have failed. Please pray, everyone! I'll let you know when I hear. Merme

OH, My Merme---of course constant prayers for your friend.  and may I add---my mother was 6 to 6-1/2 months along when I was born. I weighed 3 lbs 6 oz when I was born--I lost 6 oz. then I was in a incubator for 6 weeks before I got to come home. now while I was sickly, in that I caught every illness that was around, hey--I am her 57+ years later---

Yes miracles do happen, I have a 6 year old niece that came into the world at 3 months premature at only 1 pound 14 ounces...

 UPDATE ON RACHEL & THE WEE ONE! Here is the latest news. The docs gave Rachel magnesium to stop her labor and to keep her from dilating any further. So far so good. They "weighed" the baby who is now approx 1 1/2 pounds and is measuring to be closer to the 23 week mark than they originally thought. The baby has a greater chance of survival if they can get her past 23 weeks. Meantime, they are deciding about whether or not to give Rachel the steroid shots which would help the baby's lungs mature more quickly in case of an early birth. The docs are all for this plan, knowing how much steroids can help the lungs, but Rachel & Dan wanted to discuss it last night before deciding. Now consider this in your prayer efforts: The baby's chance of survival on Monday was thought to be near zero. We've all been praying and she is still holding on to that babe and her chances are increasing every day! YAY! Let's keep at it and I'll let you know updates as I can get them!

The Power or Prayer..... we are seeing a miracle-- prayers for Rachel to keep on holding on to the baby... and for the baby to keep on growing just where he/she is supposed to inside mommy... Nana

Hey my daughter in law , took the steroids for her babys lung, she was one day past premmie when born. Today she is riding high at the age of 3, rougher than a boy her age..Play ball she loves..
Ok Now i am praying hard that Rachel an baby get safe an survive.

Tonight's update on Rachel & the wee babe.... Rachel is still pregnant and baby Isabella has passed the 23rd week mark! Rachel has received two steroid injections to help the baby's lungs mature and the docs are very pleased with the progress. Rachel says she can feel the love coming her way through all these prayers, so let's keep praying. Every day Isabella remains inside her mommy, the better! Merme
