I bought a platform grated bottom feeder for meal worms for my bluebirds. I put it out when I noticed the first nest. I didn't rehydrate the first I put out and the birds didn't touch them. A couple of weeks ago I hydrated some and put them out and noticed yesterday the birds still haven't touched them. Any ideas sil vous plait?

So I guess Thorn doesn't know the answer to my ?

As of yesterday still no takers for the meal worms. Maybe I should start putting them out in the platform feeders where the robins hang out.

I have never fooled with meal worms. Some people have luck with them some don't. I live in a habitat where meal worms would really not be effective.

Do I live in a habitat where they're not needed? I thought the birds would gobble them up faster than I could get them out.

That could be the case. Meal worms are especially for bluebirds. The bluebirds in my area have PLENTY of NATURAL food. Most birds that will eat meal worms ALSO like suet just as much, so I have always used the suet instead.

Yep, I've got suet out too. I think the birds are staying full. The second batch should be about ready to fly.

Thanks.
