Today I really n eed to get out & try to clean out my asperagus bed, & lay down some landscaping paper to be ready for some grass much next week. but with all of this rain I can't seem to get out there.

So for first I will wash clothes & bed linens & then clean the kitchen in between. I like a clean house I just really do not like to start in cleaning.
Once I start I am ok though

I am taking a lot of breaks as well. It is over 70* out there and hot working in the sunshine. So I am about done until evening. But I have a ditch pretty much cleaned out and sandbags filled to line it with. Some are in place already. I can see the end of that job. I will shoot the next tractor driver who comes back behind my house. I need a pair of "no tractors beyond this point" signs.

Glad you can see an end in sight Tina.

Hi everyone! The weather here has been beautiful these last couple days, it's even supposed to get above 70 today! I went for a run yesterday afternoon and even though I had on my visor I still got a bit of sun so I bought some good sunscreen yesterday. grin I've the second load of laundry going, cooked breakfast, did the dishes, took out the trash and recycle, and now I'm just waiting for my stomach to digest a bit and I'm going to get my bike out and go for a nice leisurely ride today. My poor bike has been neglected for too long. Tomorrow will be a gardening day.

wavy

I am home from dialysis and Maxi is playing outside. I sat down here w/ a half sandwich (my very late lunch on dialysis day) to read back and catch up with y'all. You guys sure have been busy!

What with laundry and rain showers and baby showers and weeding and biking and cooking and dishes and sandbagging and allergies and kids and hauling and picture taking and dog grooming and...

wow!

lol

I hope everyone has pleasant plans for the weekend?

Hi Merme.

This week end is full of more work...painting equipment and yard work. But I like being busy.

Although I think lately I'm losing my mind, I just made a big batch of biscuits and noticed I put cornstarch instead of baking powder touched Had to start all over. They had strawberries on sale(which never happens) so I'm planning shortcakes for a treat tonight.

you are not touched You are just far too busy with far too much on your mind right now.

and after all, you caught your mistake. Worry when you are eating something & dont know what happened to it to make it taste so strange.

hi, merme wavy

ah yes, clean dirt--I will remember that----if I ever see such a phenomena. haha

I h ave a plaque that a friend of mine made me it says:
My house is clean enough to be healthy but dirty enough to be happy.

(me being the happy one, because it makes me crazy if I clean up & it immediately gets messed up again. and in this house that happens all the time.) rolz

yes I can imagine---there was a time for me.

like when I would wash clothes??

I had to hang all the towels first by size/type the then within sizes by color.
and underwear?/ everybodys got hung by itself, and for example all socks, with mates next to each other.--yep I did just that.

I used to make my sister crazy--she would say your housae is wreck, but your drawers & cabinets, (that no one could ever see??) they were spotless & very orderly-- haha

I would sit at night in front of the TV & clean drawers.

I still do that..and it's weird because DH will mess stuff up on purpose and laugh. Then he say's...just doing it so you won't be bored touched

Just like everything has to be in a certain order in a certain way...to me it's normal behavior but to everyone else I'm losing it. And I have a niece who is the same...they torment us on Facebook about it, pickers.

my house does not have to be spotless but it has to be in MY order--the way I want it--if it is not, well I fix it so it is---and I want kept what I want kept, & throw away what I want gone------I guess we all have our own little 'quirks' huh??? but hey, I figure, as long as I/we am/are happy then so what???

That is nice of Carey to do that for you--if he really is that is.. lol

Ya he really does it...he does funny little things then looks at me and smiles..reminds me of Mr.Roper on Three's Company..haha

Quirks? that's like I'm not superstitious but when I was young.. if my grandma would drop a dishcloth by accident on the floor she'd then pick it up with her left hand and shake it out three times...she'd say "keeps company away if you're busy"..and to this day I do the same with out even noticing..DH laughs at that also.

My house would drive both of you ladies insane. I pretty much don't dust. It is a useless occupation here. I do vacuum once in a while, above the floor. Most everything else may get a wash every now and then. Right now it has been a very long while.

Oh my Tina, do not get the wrong impression--see, I like to keep my "things", and "things" can keep one's house rather cluttered.
But all the rest is true.

as long as you let me keep my "stuff" you & I would get along just fine---

I dont Vacuum any longer---I can't & am afraid it will hurt me.
so that is one thing I really need to have hired done. Rod vacuumes if I throw a fit & demand it is done, & not before.
but hey, when he DOES do it, he does a darn good job

no, what i meant was perhaps he wasn't doing the messing to give yo something tto do but because that is the man in him coming out???

but I now, after reading the above, do think he does do it for you ,---

I did a lot of that too, (like your grandmother did) but I am so slow that a lot of that fell to the way side during the raising of my girls. I was a very lucky perosn that they are so far apart. Otherwise I would STILL be raising them haha

I a hve thought of that----perhaps you had better start developing other things that will make you feel like you are accomplishing things. and no I have no idea waht that might be--if I did I would do them-- haha

hey!!! you could hire the cleaning done & then supervise the work---
Hey!! better yet, I know!! run your own cleaning business---you get a cut for finding the jobs & the customer gets your promise of supervised workers in their house. bow lol

Tina you are always working outside---and there are only so many hours in a day after all. I am sure your house is just fine.

Dont even get me started on dust--used to make me crazy--my MIL could dusty a week in advance for a party , me, ?? not one day before.

yea me too. By the time I straightened & such so the cleaning lady could come I have no idea what the point would be.

I have considered hiring some lady in to do my yearly cleaning, like outsides of cabinets, curtains & windows, though.

I got DH to clean my ceiling fans, & light fixtures in the whole house this year--he thought they had to be done before his family came to stay. grin

My mommy didn't raise no dummies. bow

What I meant here was that people would hire the work done thru you and then you would find someone to do it for them and supervise the people you found to do it, while they were doing it. Or after it was done you could inspect their work. bop grin

We all have a little OCD in us, especially when it comes to our homes. I've got dinner in the oven and the last load of laundry in the dryer. I've had a pretty productive day today, will make for an easy day for me tomorrow. I don't even have to cook dinner tomorrow, the girls will be gone babysitting so it's just me and boys tomorrow night. Well, I better get moving on finishing dinner, I'm technically cooking two dinners tonight.
