  Beats me what is a dish garden.. This was a baking dish for in the oven..I thought it was a cheap arrangement for the style??????/// I guess not deep ? b I will probably think all nite on that one. b

well sorry--I saw the prbbles & waht looked like succulents & so I thoguth i t was a tried & true theme. I have used old "worn" dishes before. I once used an old ceramic tea pot that was minus the lid & was cracked around the lid opening. belonged to my Dh's great aunt at one time....

Nothing wront with that.. I use lots of broken cups too..
I saw some with shoes for gardens.......guess anything goes today.
Wheel barrels, bushel baskets......anything.
No problem..

yea i made 1 for my self used the same dish but only had 5 plants in it very spaced out n leaves kept falling off the plants but i think i also watered them too much. after i made my 1st 1 i made 1 for my mom for mothers day same idea only had like 4 plants in it. then i went to a different store that had a much bigger selection of succulents n decided to remake mine n with the extra plants i had mom decided to remake hers too. now that i put more plants in mine and watered it less it looks much better. i could make tons of these.

the 1st tries i used regular potting soil because its what i had but on the 2nd go around i used cactus mix potting soil

once i get my bills paid this month ill be taking any extra cash i have and be making myself a second 1 n redoing moms once again well makin her a new 1. i think she's jealous mine is doing/looking better than hers. so be spending bout 50 bucks on plants prolly but they look good and i enjoy makin them so i dont mind.
