I have an idea for a new recipe but it requires me cooking a spaghetti squash. I looked up online how to cook one but I get two methods and so I thought that maybe some of you experts here could tell me which is the best way. I found that you can either cook it whole then cut it up, or cut and gut it and cook it. Are there any advantages, disadvantages for each way of cooking it? Other than it's harder to cut open a hot squash? Thanks a lot!

I have done it both ways. I think I preferred the whole squash method but it has been a very long time. Of all the squashes , it is probably my least favorite.

Thanks Tina, I think that's what I'll do. I'm making it into a pesto shrimp primavera type of dish. I haven't had spaghetti squash since I was a kid but I remembered liking it. I haven't really had the guts to try any of the other squashes simply because I've never had them and don't know if I'd like them. I think I may try an acorn squash recipe sometime in the future though.

Cheryl ~ we eat all the squashes and enjoy them very much. I have sent you a PM on the different baking techniques for both spaghetti squash & acorn squash. I think you will like them very much!
