I got a mini iris in February and it was doing fine being from the store and all. I was told not to replant it at the time though through the month the plant started to die. I am assuming from being in a pot to small for the root system. I proceeded to replant the iris but it did no good. I was told that it went into hibernation and to plant it outside so it will re-bloom.

There is a problem with this though. I have no place to plant it outside. I have two question.

First-Will it grow inside?
Second-How do I make the plant start regrowing.

More info... The bulbs (there is 3) look fine. They have a thin layer of dead leaf on the outside and the inside has white bulb type things inside (like garlic kind of). Is that what they are suppose to look like?

Sorry my biology is really bad if you cant tell. I really hope I can bring this plant back. It means a lot to me.

Thanks for any help

Welcome, confused_g.
It sounds as though you have a bulbous type of iris. They do go dormant and they can come back. But probably not until next winter. You may see new green growth and then early spring new blooms. Meanwhile don't water that pot too much or the bulbs will rot. Barely damp at all is best. Store it in a cool dark place, basement or closet. Next winter, around January, bring it out and put it in your sunniest window, and water lightly. See what happens.
