Been pretty busy here lately but we took and relaxed yesterday and enjoyed the day with the kids and grandson.

In our town they celebrate memorial day with a parade and fireworks and some activities for the kids .

Everything ends up about a 1/2 mile away from our house .
WE took the grandson to the parade in the morning and then hung out in the yard till dinner and fireworks.
Sure is nice to watch them from your own yard ... no crowds neener

Here some pics of our day and some yard stuff that's starting to look pretty, also 2 vids , 1 of Nolan watching the shriner's go karts and of the fireworks from our yard.

enjoy...

We have been to this one every yr for the last 9yrs.
... just not what they use to be .
Over the yrs it seems to be more political and advertisment then floats and acts.

Before we would get 5-6 bands , all kinds of floats and stuff.
Still fun for the little one's though....candy, candy, candy, that's what they want lol.
We had 1 band ...H.S band ....and they were not even in uniform ! shezz

Were heading up to Traverse city for the famous Cherry festival over the 4th.
Now they have a parade, 2hrs long! with all kinds of bands and floats.

Get to see the Blue angels fly over the bay and skim the water ....what a sight that is thumbup

I'll see if I can dig some pics up of last yrs when we were up there .

Love your pictures! I bbq corn the same way it looks, do you soak yours in water prior to grilling? Just curious because out here in the pacific northwest most people remove the husks and wrap with tin foil. My husband, who is from Wisconsin, taught me how to make it with the husks and it's so much better.

Yes, soaked the corn in salt water for few hrs and grill. Only thing was we didn't allow for the meat that block some of the heat and the timing was a bit off.
...need to use a 2nd grill for corn..or time it better next time.
Called for 10min then turn ,10min turn etc.

..few more froggys for you juni grin
