I am so frustrated with this. All the leaves are missing so then I lose the plant. I can't see the damage on any of the neighboring plants. Any ideas?

I always get leaf miners on my Columbines each year. According to Wikipedia they are:

Quote
Leaf miner is a term used to describe the larvae of many different species of insect which live in and eat the leaf tissue of plants. The vast majority of leaf-mining insects are moths (Lepidoptera), sawflies (Symphyta) and flies (Diptera), though some beetles and wasps also exhibit this behavior.

Leaf miner infection can be reduced or prevented by planting trap crops near the plants to be protected. For example, lambsquarter, columbine, and velvetleaf will distract leaf miners, drawing them to those plants and therefore reducing the incidence of attack on nearby crops. This is a method of companion planting.

I've read that the best way to get rid of it on Columbine is to either cut off the leaves uhuhh - it gets on ALL my plant leaves! Or throw the plant out - not gonna do that! uhuhh

Good luck with your plants - I keep mine because I like the flowers so much.
