wavyHello. I am a new member and this is my first post.
I am wondering about a flower on my Peace lily Plant.
I was gifted this plant last December after my daughter's
death. There is a flower on it that bloomed about a month ago
and it is a double flower. It looks like a butterfly looking
at it from the top. I did not expect this kind of flower.
Does this happen often. The rest of the flowers are single.
How long do these flowers usually last before they die.

Welcome, Sheryle. I am sorry for your loss. It must be very difficult. It sounds like a mutant flower. But I would receive it as a gift from those gone before. A nice sign. And a great gift.
I went to look at your other question and all I found is that the flowers can last for weeks or even months. When they begin to fade it is time to cut them so the plant doesn't waste energy trying to revive it.

Tina thank you for answering my questions. We are on the same page. The reason I mentioned my daughter is because another daughter said to look for signs from the deceased daughter. We did relate my flower to her. Now my other daughter told me she has a caladium with a bloom. We are taking that as a sign also because none of her relatives has seen a bloom on a caladium. We find this all remarkable. We are not experienced with plants to know if this is strange or not. Also thank you for your condolence.
