So you buy a pack of seed and sow what you need , but you have left over seed ?

What do you do with it ? can it be used the following year if stored properly?
How long is it good?

Seems im getting a collection started, have seed from last yr but bought new for this year not knowing.

Over the yrs I have saved sunflower seeds and re-seeded with them with good result. Store them in a paper bag till dry then shuck and transfer to a plastic coffee can stored in the garage.

Would veggie seeds be ok if stored in cool dry place or are you better off buying new every yr and 86 the left overs ?

Most seeds can be stored. You may find that there is less germination the following years.
A lot of people around here share/swap seeds and collect seeds for sharing.

Have seen the pictures of the great seed lock up in the Artic?? Maybe they can store them for you?? That thing is impressive!!!

Im not an expert but my gut tells me that anything over 2 years old would not be reliable unless stored in a pristine condition

I've planted seeds that were stored in plastic bags and in a neighbors cupboard for 10 years..and they grew. Only half the seeds worked but they still grew.

I've seen the documentary on the seed storage bank..it was very interesting.
