Mine too. It will be late because it went out this morning. But that will just elongate your special day into days.
Have a wonderful Birthday!

Thanks ladies. & thanks Snowfarmer. grin
and having a late birthday is a good thing, so not to worry.

I could be wrong, and hopefully I am, but I think I am sick.
If my thermometer is working I have 101.4
and since I saw my DD a week ago & she was sick, I probably am. tears

Thank you ladies (& gentleman.) for all your wonderful Birthday wishes.
I am so pleased to have such wonderful friends here.
Bless you all for remembering my day. Thank you for making my day as wonderful as it could have been, I will always remember that.
But esp thanks to Tamara & Lynne. kissie I have no idea how I would have gotten thru this sinus infection without them both.
I esp appreciate seeing my Birthday thread the night before, when I felt good.

I will be sure to let everyone know when I am celebrating my birthday.
Rod had been going to take me out for the day & for supper. I sure cannot l et that go by, now can I???

below is a photo of the 3 cards that I have gotten so far. (family cards will come this Sunday.)

the first one is from Tina. inside was a gift card to Wal-mart. of course I will take that to the garden center. bow Thank you so much Tina

the middle card is from Lynne, it came inside a big box of gifts on June 5th. it was so nice to have come early as of course I was sick on my actual day. Bless you Lynne. Picture to follow. grin
The last one is from Barb. it had a funny poem in it about "The Sensible Toad" it made me laugh, Barb, and I needed that, thanks.

Tina & Barb's cards came on June 9th. But I didn't open them until last night. unfortunately I was just too ill until then. But it was nice to lay there & have them all to think of.

Below is a photo of the flowers that my brother bought me. he usually has them delivered to ceramic's when my birthday falls on a Tuesday, but this year he waited until I felt better & brought them himself. :ding:

[Linked Image]

and then, below is the wonderful box that I got to open on Saturday the 5th. Didn't Lynne do a perfect job?? The Hummingbird feeder is hung out, & I used the gardening gloves on the eveing of the 7th. They were perfect. like wearing nothing at all.
and gee, one of the gifts, a handmade market bag, was wrapped in ribbon with frogs on it. I laughed so hard. Of course, I have kept the ribbon too. thumbup

There were 2 more things that Valarie brought me:

One was an Angel food cake..to go with my Strawberries and whipped cream,
which is my standard Birthday cake.

and then the last plant Valarie brought was:

Euphorbia Amygdaloides...Wood Spurge.
[Linked Image]

All of her gifts were VERY very nice, and I told her so. I said that any one of them would have been wonderful, but to get them all... bop shots

--but I have a question:

1 Place online says that this plant (Wood Spurge) is prone to:
Nematodes..Spider Mites..Aphids..Mealy Bugs--Fungal & Bacterial Diseases why

WHAT IS a girl to do?????

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful..what wonderful daughters you have kissie

Hmm, the last plant?..I think I'd plant it by itself somewhere just in case.Mind you all plants are prone to something anyway why ...do you have a little corner that you can tuck it into or a place in your rock garden(where your pretty bricks and stones are)?

Wonderful gifts from a very thoughtful daughter, Carol!!!

I don't have any idea about the spurge, sorry, but... the first one is a piTCHer plant - not piCture. Sorry - just had to point that out! kissie It's carnivorous - like the ones that Diane and Jimmy were growing a few years ago, and Diane had sent one to me. Unfortunately mine has gone to the great garden in the sky already. They eat flies and other bugs that have the misfortune to fall into their "mouths" and get stuck in their sticky "hairs" that line the inside. You can "feed" them flies also. They are not hardy here, and I'm thinking that you will have to bring it indoors as well. The expensive pond store near here sells them for a very hefty price, or I would have some as well. You are one lucky mom! thumbup

The roses are beautiful - have I mentioned that yellow roses are my favorite??? luv

I'm so glad you had such a nice belated birthday!

This is like reading the warnings that come with all medications. They are scary as all get out and make you want to toss them all in the darkest corners. Most plants will be prone to many of those things. Read wha conditions the plant likes and give it the best spot in your gardens for it. From a nursery it probably isn't carrying any of those with it. Just plant it where you can enjoy it.

Tamara: Look see what the post man brought me today?????
A birthday card from Canada!!! Look everyone----you KNOW who this card is from see the cookies & the coffee on the front??? lol

[Linked Image]

clap grin Yes !!! I DID have my Birthday yesterday!!!
You can look in the posts above to see what my Valarie brought me grin
Rod made smoked pork steaks with rub on them--quite tastee to my mind. I made fresh (4 for $1.00) corn on the cob that I cut off, a hash brown potato casserole, green beans, a veggie tray, bread & of course Angelfood cake, Strawberries, & cool whip.
The latter is what my mom would make me for my birthday cake when is was growing up. thumbup
Supper went well---and we all had a great time. mom, who was not too well, was even in a good mood. And life is always better when your kids are around.
yep a good time & a good day was had by all. bow
Thanks for asking..
