wow, you gals sure can fill up 2 pages in no time flat. i was not on here yesterday as we had heavy thunderstorms in the aft. and even. with quite a light show, so decided to play it safe and shut down the computer. i am downloading pics to Photobucket and I think the 'members gallery' is a good place to post. If anybody else has posted there, i think it is a good way to see each others gardens etc. What do you think?

Janer, sometime we post in member's gallery but sometime we post in other areas as in the current blooming fine. (we usualy post our latest blooms there.)
when yo uhave the time, if you just look around at ll the forums you can get an i dea of how it all works. But certainly member's gallery is for showing our favorite, & perhaps not so favorite, pieces of "work".

Yes, blooming fine is best for the newest things going in your gardens. If you have plants you would like IDed we have a mystery plant section. If you have non-gardening hobbies, we have a section for that as well. Pictures are much loved around here. And 2 pages is easy reading. We have been known to fill up several coffee houses (100 posts each) in an evening when everyone is on a roll.

Sure chat away while I'm gone that's just fine. Just made a double batch of peanut butter cookies, my house smells heavenly...more painting all finished. I painted up an old stand to turn into a towel holder, it came out very nice, same paint(melamine) that my bathroom walls are Now I can take out the pretty new towels that little niece bought me for Christmas.. Sold two of last years calves..that means I can go shopping for a few things on Monday or Tuesday, whoohoo...the rest of the money will go on lime and seed for the upkeep of the farm fields. You know I still haven't posted in Member's Gallery?

Hi all,,, I have been shopping today.. went to Sam's with my kid.. got stuff I needed and some that I just wanted...LOL! It got cold here today- had rain and hail last night- not big like some places but made enough of a noise it woke me up... so was up for a while last night- slept in till 9 so that was okay... we have been having our typical thunder storms this last week .. mostly go around us though.. did get rain all day today though and it is cold- I am making chili for dinner and cornbread... wanted something warm... supposed to be warmer tomorrow which means more storms most likely... Well off to stir the pot and check the cornbread it's almost done bakimg... Nana

Well, Aros and I made some significant and noticeable progress. Even our neighbor commented about him doing some gardening. Got about halfway done, was hoping to get a little further today but my back was starting to ache so I stopped so that I'd be able to continue tomorrow. I took before pictures and I'll take pictures when I'm done too so you can see how my poor garden went from being overrun with weeds to looking like a garden again. We're meeting the kids and their grandma for dinner at the Olive Garden tonight, we'll be leaving soon. Have a good night everyone!

Good on you to stop before you completely siezed up, Cheryl. It is funny that your neighbor commented. Does Aros never go out and do yard work?

No, he doesn't do yard work, mainly because we really don't have a yard to speak of. My little gardening area and the walkway is about it, he pulled all of the weeds back by the grill so that when we fire it up this year it isn't a fire hazard. We also have our "deck" there and he cleaned that up so that he could start sitting outside again. I can't get all the grass that has taken over. Too much roots. I started to trim it so I think I'll just try to keep it trimmed over the summer and then cover it with cardboard in the fall. A girl I work with told me about that trick.

Are you competing in the horse contest, Tamara? Good morning. I am still cleaning house. That is what happens when you let things go so long. But I have spent the last year trying to catch up outdoors.

Good morning! We need to do a good housecleaning too Tina. The kids and us are going to work on that tomorrow evening. They did some of it a couple of weeks ago and our house is small so we should be able to get it cleaned up pretty good tomorrow. I'm waiting for my coffee and then I'm going to get ready to go to the farmer's market. Have fun with the competition Tamara!

I have not done much in the house for almost 2 years, Cheryl. It is disgusting in here. But I have company coming to spend a couple of weeks and want to get the major cobwebs taken care of at least. And the tree house cleaned up for her to stay in as she likes.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. This afternoon had been a lazy one. Usually we do our grocery shopping fairly early Sunday morning, but it's getting hot here so we have re-adjusted our schedule. It was about 75* when I got up-- maybe 6:30-7ish-- and by 10 or 11 it's not impossible, but certainly uncomfortable, to work hard outside. (The heat index at some point this afternoon before the showers was 102*.) Anyway, we decided to do the shopping after lunch so we could work outside all morning.
And of course, after shopping we took our Sunday afternoon nap!
Very soon though John will poke his head in and say, "Hey! You ready to do the wine?" We have one gallon to make, one to first filter, and one to second filter. Same for next weekend. Then we will stop making for several weeks. ... I mean, there's only so much wine two people can drink!
Tina-- you've taken on so much outside! Don't kick yourself over inside. That's how life goes, isn't it? You focus on a project(s) ... try to make progress ... eat, sleep ... work ... and then you turn around and say, "OH MY GOSH!! I don't have any clean socks and the kitchen floor has more dirt than my garden." At least that's how it goes with me. I will say, having a real regulation laundry room (instead of being in the basement) makes laundry not such a chore. Only a self-cleaning floor (or a less messy cook (JOHN) would fix the floor issues. I did drag a wet swiffer over it yesterday before company came. Streaky, but semi-clean.
Off to do the wine!
Have a restful evening everyone.

Well, the //www.agardenersforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showgallery/Number/114918 is clean and ready for my company. Except I have the bedding in the washer, refreshing. I also have to bring down all of the gatorade and such from the fridge up there and add some real food for midnight snacking (or complete self sufficiency if that is what is needed.) My oven is sparkly and stove top is getting there. I am glad I had it apart recently to scrub all the guts. My kitchen floor gets worse when I am cleaning than at any other time. My fridges inside need cleaning out before I so the floors. I also love having my laundry in the house for the most part, Marica. But have considered a 'summer home' for my dryer outside so it won't help heat inside when I don't want the help.

Are you competing in the horse contest, Tamara? I tried but apparently my horse had other intentions...he was acting like a bucking bronco..had to lock him back up into the horse trailer My horse is terrified of the sound of flies buzzing, met an old farmer there who said the original owner couldn't get him out of the barn, reason for selling him..well guess I am now the proud owner of a lawn ornament instead but I had loads of fun helping with set up, mc'ing, paper work and such.. Badly burned and tired..loading pics for a friend first, i'll share a few later. Hoping everyone had a great day..

I didn't do the rest of the weeding today. My allergies are just too aggravated from yesterday so I gave my sinuses a break. I took my meds today but having missed them yesterday I'm still not back to where I usually am. I did trim around the walkway though. Now we have more space to walk up do our door. I've also been doing laundry all day, I went to the farmer's market this morning and finished up the grocery shopping too so I don't feel so bad that I didn't finish what I wanted to finish outside. There's always next weekend.
