I have no idea. I just fill up quart freezer bags till I think I have enough.. 100 quarts is pretty good.
thanks.
they take less room if I cook them before freezing.

Do you cook them or just blanch them?

Last year I cooked them till almost done. Tnen froze them. I liked the idea better , cause it was easier to make them for a meal. Cook faster.. Bean do take long if raw you notice. dodge

We blanch ours in a boiling water bath for 2-3 minutes (I think). Boil water. Pop the beans in. When the water begins to boil that's when we begin to time. The "wisdom" (??) is that blanching retains more nutrients.
Course-- "cooking" could be interpreted different ways. Here in the deep south, cooking means they are cooked to death!
Your beans row does look beautiful!

Not always, I don't like peas but I planted a few this year..for my grandmother. She is in a special care home and loves fresh peas so I planted a small drill to take to her as they ripen.

Hubby is the one who plows an harrows the garden for me. Yes the tractor tracks are from him planting sweet corn below my beans. I move to the upper garden for the the tomatoes etc.
You have to buy a farm to run the tractor in the dirt. Ours is just a hobby farm. He retired from the steelmills.
Other people go to the bar not us . We go to the barn..LOL

Dodge, I used to plant a large garden..I couldn't do the work with the tractor though. I was just learning to drive it and tore it up from one end to the other..so now I plant small and do it all by hand A hobby farm is still a full time job
