I am thinking of planting some garlic in good sized planter boxes this fall. Will they freeze in the boxes?? I could plant them in the garden than transplant to the boxes in the spring when the ground softens.

In Michigan they will freeze in boxes. I am sorry. Putting them in a basement or garage may work to overwinter them. I am not sure. I plant mine in fall here for a winter/spring harvest.
