I bought one of the planted orchids at a home improvement store, too...they told me orchids are very hard to kill (I told them how difficult it is for me to keep a houseplant alive)...but apparently I'm really good...I've already got a dead orchid. Without actually being here, any ideas? Overwatering? Under? :(

Pretty, I seen a lot of them at WalMart lately..I have never owned one yet. Melissa most die from over watering. Here's a link for you to read up on http://www.thegardenhelper.com/orchid.html

Thanks, Tamara. I assumed that was the problem, once I read the posts on here...this link helps quite a bit.

Just make sure the plant isnt in potting soil, mist the leaves and roots. Never water it like you would a regular houseplant. Orchids draw moisture mostly through thier leaves, not thier roots. Most common form of death Ive seen in orchids is caused from not enough drainage and watering roots not leaves
