How do they grow baby corn? I was eating in a Thai resturant and had a dish that had lots of baby corn. It was great! But I asked the Thai people there, where does this come from, have you ever seen baby corn plants? They told me it was just normal corn picked early. I said you only get 3 or 4 ears of corn per plant, there must have been 40 baby corns in my dish. This just can't be right. Does anyone know how they grow baby corn? Thanks Dave

Hmm, its called 'candle corn' in the cookbooks, it's just regular corn that's picked within 3 days of the silks emerging. If you want to grow some, just buy a sweet variety that has slender ears...and yup, those 40 corn grew from a lot of stalks.

Ya they'll sell the seeds of a regular corn variety that they use for them and just tell you to harvest at an earlier date.
