My phone has been ringing like crazy...

My grandfather isn't well enough to go back to his special care home and needs to be placed in a nursing home..my grandmother now won't stay at the special care home without him and isn't eligible for the nursing home yet..what a mess.

That is a sad situation-----I know a lady that had her DH put into a home--so she sold her house, rented an apartment within walking distance to teh NH & went & sat there all day every day---(I am guessing they put extra food on his plate for her at meal times) Eventaully the Home found space for them to be put into a room together----I don't suppose that would work for your grandparents???

No the nursing home is so full it s a 'need only' list..and my grandma is in her 90's but can do for herself. She can't go back home cause of her 'kids' who live there with special needs..my uncle looks after them..it was too much work for her.

I'd take her here but now with me going to visit DD 4 hours away..what would I do about being gone a week at a time.

No..his legs are too weak from the stroke. He had to use a walker since he broke his hip..my grandfather is about 6'3 inches and close to 260 pounds, a big man...too big to lift on.

oh my I am so sorry. yes a Nursing home is what is needed for him. They should have hydrolic lifts & such, to aid in moving him around. I do so hope someone comes up with a solution that is acceptable for your grandmother.

well good and you know she may well just have to stay where she is. the family could all take turns taking her to visit him so she would feel better about being seperated from him. why

I will be praying for/thinking of you all. Good luck.

Anybody home?

We had such a beautiful breeze blowing in from the ocean today. It was sweet and strong. If I'd been on the beach itself, I would have called it a "windy" day, but inland it was just a wonderful, steady breeze. The sun was hot, though.

A great day in Maine, truth to tell.

Thank you, her special care home is also just a 10 minute drive from the nursing home..so we can pick her up to take her there every few days. And I just found out last night that my cousin(another grandchild) has applied to work at the nursing home(they are hiring 6 part-time positions) where grandpa will be going thumbup That might make it easier..

Good morning all, the sun is trying to peek out but it is still calling for rain..I need to get my rose bush planted later.

Just got an email from Merme, thanks, asking where I've been. I'm having computer issues and haven't been able to access the forum. Johnny is unplugging as I type to take my computer to the fixer person. Hope to see you all soon.

I went out to move my sprinklers and stayed to pull weeds in the rising sun. My coffee got cold and lonely in the house. It was lovely though.

well I need a good scolding.
last night when I thought I was washing off the deck in preparation for today's painting, I should have paid better attention. This morning I noticed "green"-- egad so I take my clorox out to wash it off--WELL----may I say the 'color" is gone but a lot of dirt came up too. egad
I thought we had a pressure washer and so I called Rod. well he says we have never had one??? So I just used the "Jet" selection on my water sprinkler to clean it off. if my back were better I would have scrub brushed the whole deck floor instead of the mold (is it??) areas.
but alas this will have to do this year. next time, though, the whole deck is going ot have to be scrubberd very good before the staining.

so now I must wait for the deck to dry really good. I may decide to do part tonight and the rest tomorrow or all of it tomorrow. It is a very good thing that the sun is so strong on that side of the house in the afternoon.-

I really should have planned better. teach

I think I will go and bake something??? Maybe.......

I hope it is an easy fix for Joe too, Nana. You are one busy lady.
I may just be done for the day. It is beginning to get hot out there. A lot of little things got accomplished but no one thing completely finished. That is how it goes when there are many distractions.

Well it rained lightly then finally stopped. I did get my outdoor work finished though. Then decided to walk back a quarter mile to pick berries(which I shouldn't do but I knew they were there lol ), filled a bowl then got caught in a rain squall...now I am soaked to the bone.

I took some pics of things outside, I'll post after supper.

Then I'll post about I have an area that I need help with..it's time to landscape it...I keep putting it off 'cause I can never figure out exactly what to do...and everything I did plant got crushed by snow.

Off to shower, brrr...

wavy Hi everybody!

I'm home from dialysis. Maxi is resting. Dinner is in the oven.

Tam, I'm wondering if you would like to put your photos & request for ideas in Landscaping where 1) more people are likely to see it and 2) it won't be in danger of a fast delete? why

I'm thinking on it already, though!

For now, it seems to me you've got a lot of straight going on between those three areas and maybe you could introduce something softer and curvy to compliment the straightaway??

*still thinking*

It is Merme, in the landscaping forum. I just linked it here because some do not check all 'active topics'.

Ya the straight is because it's easier to mow lol

I am soliciting volunteers to smack some sense into DD #3.

That is all I have.

So sorry, Marica. I had issues with DD #3 a couple years ago. She has grown up pretty nicely now (except the tats and piercings rolz) .

There is someone (well, let's be honest, there are a few) that I would like to smack some sense into. I know how it feels. My mom had some issues with me when I was younger. She never cared about me getting tattoos but the piercings really did her in. I don't have them anymore, except for my ears. My days of being wild and rebellious are long gone. Now I just feel like I want to relax all the time because I get worn out and sore so much more easily than I used to. Don't mind me too much, I'm really tired and under a bit of stress so I'm rambling.

I rode my bike to work today. It was a bit of a tough ride this morning because I live down hill from my work. I took a lower incline detour to minimize the harshness of the hills. The ride home was nice, got to coast a lot since I was on the down hill. I can already feel that I'm going to me sore. That's okay, my run tomorrow will (hopefully) loosen me up. I'm almost a third of the way through my half marathon training. I sometimes wonder if I'll be able to make it. So far I'm doing really well though. I'm getting a little loopy so I should probably think about going to bed soon. Good night!

Well, let's see, Marica ~ there are all manner of levels of sense smacking. When my EX gets really bad, I dream about whacking him w/ my prosthetic which when Maxi first heard of that plan, he yelled "fore!" lol But for less severe cases, I'd recommend a cup of tea and a long chat in a neutral environment to difuse strong feelings and control tempers.

I can't honestly comment adversely about tats and piercings because I pierced my nose in 1972, decades before it became popular and there weren't even any piercing stores yet. And I had a very beautiful, elegant tat. Some people get carried away with these things, just like some people get carried away w/ hair dye and makeup or wild/strange clothing but in general one shouldn't rule out clothing just 'coz a few abuse the concept! lol

Whatever is going on in your family, Marica, I hope all resolves smoothly and joyfully for everyone.

Cheryl I'm terribly impressed w/ all your sportiness and training. Good going, girl!

Nana let us know how Joe's tooth improves.

Great Job, Cheryl. I really admire you for what you do.
I do not mind Jonni's piercings so much. Because they are easily undone. I do not like her single tat. It was not well done, in the wrong place for 'hiding' it easily and it didn't turn out very well. They are not easily undone.
Oh, I forgot her other tat. It is on the inside of her bottom lip and will wear off eventually. It just says "THNX DR. T" (her life long dentist/orthodontist).
I am heading towards my inviting pillows. Good night all.

Good morning.
Had I gotten a tattoo in my youth it would have changed and altered over the years with my aging skin.
I was telling a friend a couple years ago that I used to wear my jeans skin tight. Then I stopped and thought. And said I still do but my skin is 'relaxed fit' now. That thought still makes me laugh. But it is so true.

Morning! You all are cracking me up. I only have two tats. A four leaf clover, about the size of a quarter, on my left shoulder, and a Gemini sign on the outside of my left ankle. I like them both but I wish I had gotten the Gemini sign a bit smaller. It's done and can't be undone though. When I went through my piercing phase I had *almost* everything pierced at least once. Found out my skin doesn't like being poked, lol.

At work today, it's my Friday. I set myself up yesterday for a fairly easy day today. I've had feet hurting and leg aching Thursdays the last two in a row and didn't want that to happen again. It's cool and rainy here today. Sone summer we're having. It's ok though, I don't know how I'd handle running in real heat. Thanks for the kind words on my exercising. It's often not easy and I have to remind myself sometimes why I bother. Mostly I love my runs though. Helps me clear my head and gives me "me" time. Well, I better get to work. Have a great day everyone!

I'm not posting much today because a) I've been really busy and b) I badly cut the middle finger of my left hand last night w/ the butcher knife while I was slicing watermelon! It took some doing but I did get the bleeding stopped w/out stitches but oh man, is it sore today!!

We got my kitchen table 100% cleared off and scrubbed down & now I can put on the two new placemats. YAY!

Later this summer I was to refinish the top of that pretty little kitchen table.

But for now, it is very good.

I am making stuffed sweet green peppers for dinner tonight & will have mashed potatoes on the side. It should be lovely.

Rain here today.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.
