 I didn't get my Sun Garden finished in time to debut it on the Fourth of July (or YET, for that matter), so I thought I set the Bird Cam out there today, to give you a sneak preview of how it is coming along.... I'll change the camera's position throughout the day. I hope that you enjoy your mini-tour! (hint: check the area in the lower foreground of this shot on the cam in an hour or so...)

Very, very nice, WW. It will even be more spectacular next year. That's just the corner! To help make it easier to maintain the gardens in years to come, I am going to start moving most of the perennials from all of the Gardens of Cedar Hill to a centralized series of perennial 'display' gardens (shade, sun, bogs etc.) this fall. The original gardens will be home for the Rhodys, Azaleas and other flowering shrubs. The Bus Stop will have Iris and Daylilies and ? Hummingbird House will house Primulas and Helleborus plants At least, that is the plan right now.

Yes, easier looks good to me too as I am getting older. I have always planted for an overgrown jungle look. Then when it really was overgrown it looked like it was supposed to be. I do not like to work on tailored, formal gardens much. Just walk around and snip off things that slap me in the face. Pruning when I feel like it or when something needs it badly enough. I want to relax in my gardens, not worry if my square hedge has a wild hair growing in it. Informal and easy.

Wow, that looks great..and a lot of work. I think planning for later is a good thing..but you know you'll probably just continue to buy and expand
