Absolutely blown away by this BEAUTIFUL Spicebush Swallowtail on my main Mimosa tree this morning. When the birds are away the insects will play.

Dodge, I think you did a splendid job of capturing the photo of your butterfly.

Great Picture, Dodge! Yours is a different type from mine. I'm not that familiar with butterflies and I don't know what it is, maybe a Pipevine or Black Swallowtail. I'll try to get several butterfly pictures this weekend.

Thorn ,

Thank you kindly. I arent up on butterflys , but they are exellent topics for colors.

Only one I know is swallowtails an monarh.

One thing I did notice, on my photo the butterfly is true an back ground is out of focus,
ON yours the background is in focus ???

I know it is the camera . LOL

Thanks add more as you get them. Come on all add yours. Its a pretty thing .
Hd told me butterfly try to land on like colors, like if they are white , they hunt white flowers. Yellow they hunt yellow flowers to keep from danger. Makes sense huh.

Thorny. I meant to comment on your Pink Mimosa. I love that variety of the Mimosa. I had planned to planting one here where my Mock orange bush was. But now I am thinking I will add a weeping cherry instard.

But I just LOVE the pink Mimosa. You are one lucky man.

I didn't plant the Mimosa. It just started growing about 5 years ago from a seed and is now TALLER AND WIDER than my house......in just FIVE years! My wife and I had always wanted a mimosa. As of this year we have three or four Mimosas.
