Some pics were taken just 15 minutes from here, the others in town. We got the same wind and rain but sit higher than sea level...they don't. Here's DD's friends house. ![[Linked Image]](http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u104/tamara-carey/flood.jpg) Pavement washing down the road. ![[Linked Image]](http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u104/tamara-carey/flood1.jpg) The mess left behind..on all the streets. ![[Linked Image]](http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u104/tamara-carey/flood2.jpg) Drug store closed..flooded. ![[Linked Image]](http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u104/tamara-carey/s1.jpg) Dollar store closed and under water.. ![[Linked Image]](http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u104/tamara-carey/storm.jpg) And that's why I changed my mind about going to town today..

I don't blame you for not going to town. Glad you are safe and I hope the storms back off soon.

Home owners insurance here only goes so far to help rebuild or repair. And it discounts many natural disasters unless you pay a fortune for each addition, like flood, or mudslide or earthquake. I mostly have insurance to help protect me from suits. If someone gets injured on my space, I hope it helps cover it. Or if my kid goes to your house and breaks a window. If I don't have the cash to repair then the insurance will do it. It is for my peace of mind. It helps but is not the 'be all and end all'. Same with auto insurance. I hope you weather straightens out for you soon.

We can't get house insurance here...too many people 'burned' their homes to get the insurance money. Basic insurance on a house would cost hundreds per month. I tell everyone..if you get hurt here you better drag yourself somewhere else or I'll bury ya in the field

And people don't take global warming seriously. D.C. sits on a swamp. I'm patiently waiting for it to submerge and take all the politicians with it.
Is any one suggestion a solution to the problem or are they just ignoring it and hoping it will go away?

Wow Tam, tearing up the roads and everything! Hard to imagine!
Glad you & yours made it safely through the storms.

But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
